As for eczema, I use dye-free, sulfur-free, perfume/alcohol-free cream cleanser for Alexandra's full body AFTER washing her hair ... and she even has her own hand soap. We apply a heavy cream lotion morning and night whether she needs it or not. ;) There are several brands that have lines specifically for eczema that are similar to what we use-- the sulfur-free part might not be necessary for you. But removing as many potential irritants as possible is a good idea...

Reality Check: It isn't always easy to deal with! Alex doesn't like that the soap isn't sudsy and she sometimes gets frustrated with lotion time, but it is way better than the crusty/itchy/painful patches she used to get!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14870090470367204143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11218937.post-72505856699795605372010-06-24T22:40:20.255-07:002010-06-24T22:40:20.255-07:00Adorable as ever!! They go with them everywhere!

You won't like my suggestion on eczema: a purely lactose free diet for 2-3 weeks. If it doesn't help, then it's not lactose. If it does help, you can reintroduce yogurt and cheese, etc, but just avoid full glasses of milk. Just an idea...many of my physician friends have recommended it for us, and Kelly's skin cleared right up. She eats ice cream, cheese, etc...she just can't handle the lactose load in a glass of milk. It's HARD to cut it out, but I'm glad we tried.

Good luck,

Indiana LoriIndiana Lorihttp://www.gregandlori.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11218937.post-38859249092960801602010-06-23T19:12:24.489-07:002010-06-23T19:12:24.489-07:00Cuteness overload! So frustrating!!! It was totally cleared up before Hawaii. And then it came back. The dermatologist thinks it's eczema, which I guess is never really cured. You just try to keep on top of it and try to avoid the triggers. Ugh. Have another followup appointment scheduled. The good thing is that it doesn't bug her at all - no itching, no pain, etc. But dang I wish we'd find something that would just clear it up. If anyone has any eczema tips, please let me know.

Oh, and I should cop to a little mistake with the dolls. Before the American Doll trip I handed out the dolls and the girls dressed their dollies in outfits of their choice. And then took them to the doll salon and choose special hairdos (braids for Ro's doll, a headband for Ree's). And it wasn't until afterwards that I realized I had switched the dolls! So Ro thinks the doll with an M on the foot is hers and Ree thinks the doll with an R is hers. Shhhhhhhh. They haven't noticed, and I'm thinking both dolls will have matching bedraggled hairdos soon and I can switch them again.
