Cafrin is here, Cafrin is here!
Our dear friend Catherine from Canada (of Catherine's Chatter) came to visit and we are all beside ourselves with excitement. She got in late last night and the girls were still awake (combo of a weird 4-hour nap and a big fruity smoothie thing they drank late at night) so they got to come back downstairs and say hello. There was much squealing, some of it was even from the girls.
Ro and Ree are upstairs alone with Cafrin (as they call her) right now and who knows what they're doing. I'm taking advantage of these few quiet minutes to post some pictures and then I'll hightail it upstairs to rescue her.
Wheeeee, Cafrin's here and we got back out of bed at 10 o'clock to say hi!!!:
First Cafrin had to meet all their friends:
Then she got real little girlie hugs (hardly anything better in this world if you ask me):
Then she got the dubious honor of meeting Orange Bucket (Ree's little stuffed duck). Gotta give Cafrin bonus points, she didn't even tease Ree about the name:
The girls couldn't wait to show Cafrin their Oriental Trading Company catalog. Yes, apparently this was of dire importance and just couldn't wait until morning. Ree was so excited she was jumping up and down:
The girls helped Cafrin unpack the "fancy hotel minibar" they assembled for her. They put in m'n'm chapstick (it's kind of a rank chocolate flavor), yellow kleenex, pringles, water, coffee-covered macadamia nuts, chocolate altoids, and some other stuff I can't remember):
Cafrin got a little chocolate brown outfit for Hannah (from me) and her very own pink bucket (from the girls -- I think they noticed gifts being given and thought they should give her something.):
In honor of the visit, my mom made a pan of apricot dream bars and dropped it off (still warm!) last night. We hit it pretty hard last night, but we've still got enough left to keep us all smiling:
Oops, just saw one of the girls tear downstairs and head outside wearing her snowboots and the pink bucket on her head. I'd better run.

Cafrin is one of my dearest friends and I know how much she was looking forward to seeing all of you. Have fun and be sure to tell Cafrin to bring back some California warmth back to Canada. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to ask about the two piece pajamas??? Do they have little asian characters on them? Just wondering what brand they are?
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is obsessed with the latest Walmart sales paper with all the pink valentine stuff in it. Oriental trading is at least interesting to see all the toys.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember wela dropping off dream bars when /we/ came to visit...

I've been following since you travled to China for the girls...so fun to watch them grow. LOve that you eat bacon and raw cookie dough! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE write more about not being a perfect mom as you mentioned you might. When I read your answer in the sidebar, I felt as though you were talking about me! Would love to know I am not alone!
ReplyDeleteWould you consider posting the recipe for the delicious looking apricot dream bars? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that she arrived safe and sound! Have a fantastic time together. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like all are having a great time!!! I am sure Cafrin is feeling the love. At least you can see love flowing out of those sweet little girls.
ReplyDeleteYou have adorable children, great family and wonderful friends. In the materialistic world you have a Mac Book Pro, a D300, nice lenses....I only see one thing lacking...a SB800 for your camera. Get one and you will be amazed.
