This whole twin thing really is easier with two parents
TubaDad is home, I repeat TubaDad is home! (cue joyous music) The girls have been cute and funny and sweet and all that, but after a week alone with them I am just cooked. They, on the other hand, are more energetic than ever. Yeah, yeah, it's a real shocker, huh?
TubaDad had a successful business trip, which was nice, but to be honest what his three girls really wanted to know was what kind of souvenirs he brought home! And boy oh boy he didn't disappoint. He picked out these cool Barcelona t-shirts and fab little dresses for the girls (the dresses are from a Barcelona designer called Desigual which I now lovelovelove), plus an entire shopping bag of international chocolate for me (thank the lord). You know, though, that even with super cute clothes and a whole passel of chocolates flying out of the suitcases, the only souvenirs that Ro and Ree went hog wild over were the little bags of socks and toiletries that the airline provided. Figures.
We took the feisty girls to the park today to try and burn off some extra energy, but a couple hours of rigorous climbing and spinning don't seem to have slowed them down at all. Oh well, at least they had fun, even if TubaDad and I didn't quite have the relaxing time on the park bench that we were hoping for. This video shows a few clips of the girls in action -- my favorite part is at the very end where Ree lifts Ro above her head and also where the two of them perform death-defying leaps into the air. (No toddlers or parents were harmed in the making of this video.)
We're heading to the Monterey Aquarium tomorrow, to visit Ro's favorite octopus, so if anyone's planning to be there, give a yell.

Those dresses are adorable! Glad he's back. I wouldn't be able to last a week with my 3.
ReplyDeleteYeah for daddy being home. Beautiful dresses. The park date looked like a lot of exhausting fun for you. You will be so happy to have those videos of them at the park in 10 years. . . even in 5 years! They change so quick! :(
ReplyDeleteYay! Tubadad is home!!! He did awesome with those cute dresses! The girls are as cute as ever...oh my, and so daring! whew, wore me out just watching!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool playground, I've never seen equipment like that before. The dresses are awesome, he did a great job picking those out!
ReplyDeleteThose dresses are fabulous, and the video is too funny!
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm dizzy just watching them!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so dang cute... and they look so grown up in their new outfits.
That is some nice looking playground. Nothng like that around here. It is amazing the girls don't have any fear. My girl won't jump down a step.
ReplyDeleteI have two words for you...."NO FEAR" OMG...they crack me up...the spinning was one thing, but the way the jumped off that big rock pile blew me away!! I have never seen a playground like that around here....what a cool place!
ReplyDeleteLove the dresses, so colorful and so pretty!!
Have a great week and keep the chocolate close by:)
Lisa
LOVE the dresses! They look so cute, cute, cute!
ReplyDeleteHOw wonderful to have him home. My hubby is gone to Mexico with my oldest. That leaves me and the three younger alone for 8 days. I am on day 3. Nerves were a bit shot today. I know how you feel. Just glad to see you made it. It gives me hope. Love the dresses/shirts/everything. My "gifts" won't be as nice. My hubby isn't so good at shopping.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, TubaDad!! And M3, we'll have to plan a playdate down in your neck of the woods ... that looks like a way fun playground, though i can't imagine my little toddler jumping like that. eekers!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I knew the video would end without the girls getting hurt yet I still don't think I breathed through then entire thing!!! Heh, laughed when you said what shade of jeans each girl was wearing. Did it take your bestest self-control not to add 'Cafrin' behind it? :o)
ReplyDeleteAs much as it was only weeks ago that we were together, I'd already forgotten just how much energy your little sweeties have and how daring they are!! Girls just wanna have fun - and your girls can give the lessons!!
Welcome home TubaDad. M3, is your recovery day at the spa booked? Want company???
Love love love the dresses!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm amazed at how fearless your girls are. P is sooo cautious. I often say she's more like an elderly aunt than a 3-year-old. She could learn a thing or two from the twinadoes. Then again...
And I could learn a thing or two from you. After one day alone I think I'd be curled up in the corner. Welcome home TubaDad!
Ok, first of all, what a cool playground! Such neat equipment! Secondly, I gasped out loud at all the flying through the air. Good thing TubaDad is a good catch!
ReplyDeleteThat is one fun park! Love the dresses, TubaDad sure knows how to pick them :)
ReplyDeleteThat is the coolest playground I've ever seen!!
ReplyDeleteThose dresses are to cute and I love that playground.
ReplyDeleteDonna
Your kids look like they are audtioning for space camp. All those rotations will make them perfect pilots. (or at least that is what TV and movies have led me to believe!) LOL
ReplyDeleteYou guys have the best park EVER!!!! Our park just did a major re-model last year but they put in all these water features instead of cool regular toys. The problem is we live in the Seattle area so it's not even turned on most of the time :( My son is very envious. He wants to go to your park where it's warm and dry!
ReplyDelete-Jen-
Have your dad build them a rock climbing wall. It wouldn't have to be terribly big but could be two sided maybe with one side being a slide. I am considering having my dad do one for G but he doesn't know it yet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great playground, I want to come and play there!! Love the dresses!
ReplyDeleteI recently came across your blog and wanted to let you know that your girls are adorable! (And those dresses are beautiful.)
ReplyDeleteI have triplets so I can completely understand - We usually drag Grammy into the mix to keep the adult-toddler ratio 1:1.
Whoah, you have to be toast. After 12 hours without Daddy, I'm burned to a crisp.
ReplyDeleteWe do NOT have parks like this in Indiana. Must find a way to get those engineering masterpieces into the Hoosier state.
Those girls have a future in the Olympics!
Best,
Lori
Have you thought about gymnastics for those two little daredevils? Or would that just give them too many bad ideas?
ReplyDeleteMy god, you poor woman. Seriously. You deserve a reward!
ReplyDeleteYou are truly an inspiration to us one-child mothers out there that get tuckered out after an 8-hr "work day" with Dad gone.
Welcome Home TubaDad! Awesome job on choosing those dresses. They are adorable on Ro and Ree.
ReplyDeleteMy girls LOVED watching the video. I think they were a wee bit envious that they can't do all that stuff yet, but that won't stop them from trying!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the twin thing is mucho easier with two parents :)
Those two are just ADORABLE!!! They look so grown up in the pics, it seems they are growing up so fast. Where is the time going??? Have fun and enjoy everyday, before you know it they will be doing their own thing.
ReplyDeleteThese are the best years ever !!(Even though you are completely exhausted all the time) tee-hee
that is THE coolest playground ever!!! Your girls have no fear, "stay far"!
ReplyDeleteLove the dresses.
ReplyDeleteWow, their Daddy has fabulous taste in girls clothing! Cute shirts and beautiful dresses! And 2 very lucky girls!
ReplyDeleteLove those dresses!
ReplyDeleteWhat adorable dresses and t's!
ReplyDeleteLovin' the video. Man oh Man the girls a speaking so well!
I want to meet you at the aquarium...... if only I could. Another time I hope!
We loved that video SO MUCH! My daughter, 2 3/4, insisted we watch it over and over!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great playground!
ReplyDeleteSo are those gorgeous Spanish dresses/clothing line available here in the US?
That park looks awesome, I've never seen equipment like that.
ReplyDeleteThe dresses are very cute on the girls. So happy for you that Dad is back. Hope you can have a date night soon.
I love how fiesty these little daredevils are. Telling daddy to back up farther as they took a dive off the big climbing rock... just hilarious. :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter lived in Barcelona for awhile and she bought my girls Desigual shirts. Did you know it means "Not the Same" That is why she bought them for my two three year olds. I love the dresses!

Vicki, I didn't know that!! Very cool -- I loved the dresses before, but now I like them even more.
ReplyDeleteWhere in the world is this great park? I have to plan a daycare field trip!
ReplyDeleteI love the girls flying off the rock island. Have you ever caught them at the apex of their jump with your still camera?
Great video. Ree's smile is incredible. It makes sunshine out of a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteI can not be lieve that jumping to TubaDad thing! Holy cow!
