This whole twin thing really is easier with two parents

TubaDad is home, I repeat TubaDad is home! (cue joyous music) The girls have been cute and funny and sweet and all that, but after a week alone with them I am just cooked. They, on the other hand, are more energetic than ever. Yeah, yeah, it's a real shocker, huh? TubaDad had a successful business trip, which was nice, but to be honest what his three girls really wanted to know was what kind of souvenirs he brought home! And boy oh boy he didn't disappoint. He picked out these cool Barcelona t-shirts and fab little dresses for the girls (the dresses are from a Barcelona designer called Desigual which I now lovelovelove), plus an entire shopping bag of international chocolate for me (thank the lord). You know, though, that even with super cute clothes and a whole passel of chocolates flying out of the suitcases, the only souvenirs that Ro and Ree went hog wild over were the little bags of socks and toiletries that the airline provided. Figures. Sweet Barcelona tees from Daddy Ro (left) and Ree in the Desigual dresses from Daddy We took the feisty girls to the park today to try and burn off some extra energy, but a couple hours of rigorous climbing and spinning don't seem to have slowed them down at all. Oh well, at least they had fun, even if TubaDad and I didn't quite have the relaxing time on the park bench that we were hoping for. This video shows a few clips of the girls in action -- my favorite part is at the very end where Ree lifts Ro above her head and also where the two of them perform death-defying leaps into the air. (No toddlers or parents were harmed in the making of this video.) We're heading to the Monterey Aquarium tomorrow, to visit Ro's favorite octopus, so if anyone's planning to be there, give a yell.

  2. Yeah for daddy being home. Beautiful dresses. The park date looked like a lot of exhausting fun for you. You will be so happy to have those videos of them at the park in 10 years. . . even in 5 years! They change so quick! :(

  10. HOw wonderful to have him home. My hubby is gone to Mexico with my oldest. That leaves me and the three younger alone for 8 days. I am on day 3. Nerves were a bit shot today. I know how you feel. Just glad to see you made it. It gives me hope. Love the dresses/shirts/everything. My "gifts" won't be as nice. My hubby isn't so good at shopping.

  12. LOL! I knew the video would end without the girls getting hurt yet I still don't think I breathed through then entire thing!!! Heh, laughed when you said what shade of jeans each girl was wearing. Did it take your bestest self-control not to add 'Cafrin' behind it? :o)

As much as it was only weeks ago that we were together, I'd already forgotten just how much energy your little sweeties have and how daring they are!! Girls just wanna have fun - and your girls can give the lessons!!

Welcome home TubaDad. M3, is your recovery day at the spa booked? Want company???

    Love love love the dresses!

And I'm amazed at how fearless your girls are. P is sooo cautious. I often say she's more like an elderly aunt than a 3-year-old. She could learn a thing or two from the twinadoes. Then again...

And I could learn a thing or two from you. After one day alone I think I'd be curled up in the corner. Welcome home TubaDad!

  18. Your kids look like they are audtioning for space camp. All those rotations will make them perfect pilots. (or at least that is what TV and movies have led me to believe!) LOL

  19. You guys have the best park EVER!!!! Our park just did a major re-model last year but they put in all these water features instead of cool regular toys. The problem is we live in the Seattle area so it's not even turned on most of the time :( My son is very envious. He wants to go to your park where it's warm and dry!

  20. Have your dad build them a rock climbing wall. It wouldn't have to be terribly big but could be two sided maybe with one side being a slide. I am considering having my dad do one for G but he doesn't know it yet!

  21. What a great playground, I want to come and play there!! Love the dresses!

  22. I recently came across your blog and wanted to let you know that your girls are adorable! (And those dresses are beautiful.)

I have triplets so I can completely understand - We usually drag Grammy into the mix to keep the adult-toddler ratio 1:1.

  23. Whoah, you have to be toast. After 12 hours without Daddy, I'm burned to a crisp.

We do NOT have parks like this in Indiana. Must find a way to get those engineering masterpieces into the Hoosier state.

Those girls have a future in the Olympics!

    Best,

    Lori

  24. Have you thought about gymnastics for those two little daredevils? Or would that just give them too many bad ideas?

  25. My god, you poor woman. Seriously. You deserve a reward!

You are truly an inspiration to us one-child mothers out there that get tuckered out after an 8-hr "work day" with Dad gone.

  26. Welcome Home TubaDad! Awesome job on choosing those dresses. They are adorable on Ro and Ree.

My girls LOVED watching the video. I think they were a wee bit envious that they can't do all that stuff yet, but that won't stop them from trying!

And yes, the twin thing is mucho easier with two parents :)

Those two are just ADORABLE!!! They look so grown up in the pics, it seems they are growing up so fast. Where is the time going??? Have fun and enjoy everyday, before you know it they will be doing their own thing.
