Lions and tigers and twins

All saddled up and ready to meet friends at the Oakland Zoo this weekend (it was so hot and the weatherman was SO wrong that we ditched the ill-advised long-sleeve shirts within minutes): IMG_0212 This cool camel dude just cracked us up (TubaDad took this great pic of him): DSC_3723m We always love the sweet elephants: DSC_3733m A huge zoo to roam in and hundreds of neat animals to see, and all of the kids wanted to hang out in this field of flowers. They probably would have played on this hill all day: DSC_3763 Thanks to my sweet friend Junebug for this family shot: DSC_3777m The girls wanted a double shoulder ride, and the ascent was a little hairy: IMG_0225 Who knew they had great kiddie rides at the zoo?: DSC_3806 It was pretty funny when the girls tried to flap up into the sky: DSC_3813m A few hours past naptime, we finally did the ole grab-and-go and raced to the car: IMG_0238 Doesn't every good road trip end this way?: IMG_0245 PS: Got to hang out with awesome blogger friends Michelle and Kayce today, and while we were chillin at the pool Michelle checked her phone and shrieked that Lisa (Tate R Bug) got her referral. Whoohoo!! I swear it was the cherry on top of a perfect day. Please head on over to Lisa's site and share the joy. Oh, and please ignore the fact that I look like a dork in the below photo -- Michelle and Kayce look great so I'm posting it anyhow. Munching away on the rice krispy eggs that Kayce made These girls are so sweet Hanging at the park Swimming!!

  4. Sweet pictures, and it was fabulous to see you guys this weekend!! I have a few pics of Ro smushing Ree while smiling broadly ... or perhaps it was the other way around! Will send them over once I get everything uploaded, though they don't hold a candle to yours! I love-love-love the pics of the girls climbing onto tubadad's shoulders.

  9. LOVE the Camel picture :-)

What a fun day. I shrieked quietly at work when I saw the update for Lisa and Tate. :-)

I am taking my girls to the MN Zoo this weekend. They have baby animals out. Let's hope for warmer weather for us but we won't be in any outdoor pool yet. LOL

  10. Look like such a fun day!

Quick question: do you schlep all your Nikon equipement with you on outings like this or do you carry something smaller? (I just got the D300 and we need a suitcase to carry everything!)

    Thanks.

  11. Hey Wanda, we don't usually take the Nikon (too lazy), but TubaDad took it this time because we just got the 18-200 lens back from the shop and he wanted to try it out. I usually just carry the little purse camera with me.

  13. I had such a great time yesterday! What a great idea is was to move to the pool. It was a gorgeous day! The girls are getting so big and they are such sweeties too. Grace had fun playing with them and when I showed her the pictures she said "When can we go back and see them girls again?" (Her words-hee).

And you're right-getting the news of Lisa'a referral was the icing on the cake.

  14. That is defiantly the end of any good trip! Looks like you had a blast! Was there a pool at your zoo or was that somewhere else?

  15. That's a really cool idea of putting the drawer bins in between the seats. I'm gonna have to go out and measure to see if mine would fit too!
