We heart summer
Ahhhh, we all love summer around here. The hotter the better. It's time to play outside all day, break out the flip flops (or "fip fops," as Ro and Ree call them), eat casual dinners at the pool, revel in all the awesome fresh summer fruit, and stay up late.
These flip flops, by the way, are my Yellow Box flip flops. TubaDad and the girls gave me a couple of pairs for Mother's Day and they are my new favorite summer things. Have you tried these shoes?! Oh man, they are so comfortable I want to swoon. After wearing these I will never be able to go back to drugstore flip flops again, which makes my inner cheapie girl quite sad. But who cares about that, my feet are so freakin' happy! I have the crankiest, blisteriest, babyest feet around, and I wear these all day and even go on long walks in them, without a single problem. I give these shoes 10 toes up.
Oh sheesh, now I've blathered on and on about flip flops, when what I really wanted to ask was: What's your favorite summer thing?

My fav summer thing is NOT HAVING TO COOK as Dearly Beloved fancies himself the uber grill chef--

There's a lot of things I don't like about summer, mostly the heat which reaches 100 here (California's Central Valley) in May and lasts into September.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I think the best part of Summer is vacations, traveling, and visiting with friends and family.

Just to let you know, my kiddos call these "flipper floppers".
ReplyDeleteOHHH I love your flops!!! I heart my Jcrew flip flops!!!
ReplyDeleteI have everything from Chevys to mixed drinks on my flops!! LOVE THEM!
Hugs,leslie
Cute flip flops...and pretty toes:)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about summer is heading to the beach for a picnic style dinner and then watching the sunset!!
Hope you all have a great week!
Lisa
My favorite thing about summer is the kids are home from school. No homework!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Fit Flops.....LOVE THEM!!!!!
Your fwip fwops are stinkin' adorable!!! I have short toes and have trouble with that piece between the toes - it just wears my skin right off. Mind you those are the el cheapo ones I am talking about. Not sure I want to invest in the expensive ones. I love the way they look though!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer thing ... hmmm ... being outside and in the pool (bringing me to my least favorite thing - swim suits- akkkk!!!). Us Canadians get a really short summer so we enjoy the heck out of it. It was only about 60 degrees today ... boo!!!
Fresh food and flip flops!
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome!
Lori
My favorite thing about summer is the smell of honeysuckle.
ReplyDeleteNo school!!
ReplyDeleteCamp!!!!
Snick :)
Ooo...can we buy this kind of flip fops near your place? Can you believe that I've never owned a pair of ff's in my entire life?? Something drastically wrong with that!! Will need to fix that in say...2 weeks? Cute toes too!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing about summer? The break from teaching in the evenings so not rushing home from work and, summer clothes without wearing boots, socks, coats, hats, mitts...yah, you get the picture!
See you SOON!
Being that we live in Florida, Summer is pretty much year around but the thing I like best is that I can use my pool. Our pool is not heated and even in South Florida an unheated pool is too cold during the winter. We are back in it now and will be till October.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things about summer is kids out for summer break and my very favorite thing is my flip flops. I have a couple of pair of Yellow Box Flip Flops and LOVE THEM!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe warmth. Oh the blessed warmth.
ReplyDeleteLate nights and bonfires and NO SCHOOL!!!! LOVE them all!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the slip slops as MY girls call them! They're too cute! And your pedi looks great too!
We live in a court with 18 kids - on summer nights, it is so much fun to sit and watch them run & play - freedom! Sometimes we sit on our neighbors porch, glass of wine in hand, and just laugh . . . nice.
ReplyDeleteYou know...I think I like the flip flop thing too! I also think of vacations, camping and Farmers markets!
ReplyDeleteLiving in Canada, I think my favourite thing is not having to deal with the mittens, hats, snowsuits, and boots every day. I also like flip flops (yours are super-cute!) and sandals, which means NO SOCKS for me to wash and sort! With 4 kids, socks are the bane of my existence. lol
ReplyDeleteOur favorite summer thing is hanging out in the pool eating popsicles.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of summer is going to the beach. I love the ocean, swimming, the samd, the sounds, playing with my family, the laziness. I'm a summer girl!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about summer is walks at 9 PM when it's still 75 degrees out.
ReplyDeleteMy fav summer thing ... NOT HAVING TO WORK!!!! Holidays, holidays for 8 glorious weeks (I'm even taking one day off of motherhood ... selfish me!). Summer? What's not to love!
ReplyDeleteWe call them 'thongs!'
ReplyDeleteHand Down -- The kids being home!! Undoubtedly I'm not the first to claim this one.
ReplyDeleteSecond on my list is our pool. Love having the pool to entertain my crew.
Enjoy summer!
M3, you have a great manicure. I can't see my toes anymore. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe best part of summer to me is the sun, grilling, spending time with my loved ones in the gardens. Oh, and air-conditioning. :-)
Summer!...What's not to like?!
ReplyDeleteSame with those flip-flops of your's...fabulous!
M.
Oooooh, I've heard great things about those, but don't have any yet. Maybe I should branch out from my favorite Target ones and get a pair?
ReplyDeleteOh nothing introduces summer time at our house like a nice new much needed pedicure! Yours toesies look FAB!! Our favorite thing about summer is staying outside all day and then chasing fireflies at night! There's just nothing like simple summer time fun!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
June & Lilli
Cute toes! I heart summer too although over on this side of the hill we have been sitting in some of the worst fog! We've seen the sun maybe 2 days out of the last 14. I'm still in the uggs. YUCK!
ReplyDeleteI love thongs (what we Aussies call them)!
ReplyDeleteYou have seriously pretty toes!!!!!
