You too can have a spacious mansion with an ocean view

If you're strolling along the beach and happen to find a huge pile of driftwood that someone has arranged in a circle, you should immediately scream "It's our house!!!" and claim it by putting all your stuff inside. IMG_4490LRs Figure out where the bedrooms are and if you have the right feng shui. IMG_4488LRs After you're done unpacking, have a little bite of lunch at the dining room table. IMG_4493LRs Then take a nice refreshing pretend nap in your beach palace. IMG_4496LRs Ahhhhh, life is good.

  1. Reminds me of my childhood! Lived in a house, but was always creating a new one! Perhaps my Mom's constant comments about "the kitchen in my NEXT house" brought about imaginary homes?

Too funny. Have you ever seen the comedian who talks about claiming a territory simply by raising a flag? Your story reminds me of his act.

  3. While the view is fantastic, I see the girls starting to gripe about the taxes and the people trespassing on their property to get to the beach.

Playing at the beach in November with no jackets, while Catherine is snuggling into winter clothes and enduring winter snow. How strange our world is.

  15. Must be a twin thing. I remember doing very similar things with my sister at whatever we could find to call a cave or nest or home.

Oh, the simple joy they have together. Just warms my heart.

  16. Too dang bad that we have to grow up. My paper dolls lived in a condo (the living room end table) and drove around in a snazzy station wagon (cardboard box).

  17. This is so cute. My kids create their own house right in the house with a tent.

  18. Love it - isn't this what childhood is all about. I can just see my little girl doing the same thing, lol!

  19. My best friend and I went out on my front lawn every Saturday morning when I was a kid. Crack of dawn - freezing cold some times. We'd have a blanket and two cups of hot chocolate and some of my mom's banana bread. We were 'going on vacation'. Magical stuff.

  20. Boy, the first thing I thought of when I saw this post was the children's book called Roxaboxen. Sure reminds me of that book! It's probably a book that's still over their heads, so I'd just check it out of the library and see what you think.

  24. That is what the beach is for! Forget all that swimming with the man eating sharks stuff. My 10 year old and her sister still do this and we have to make reservations to join them for dinner or ELSE.
