Just your normal, average January day
We were riding bikes at the park and Ro and Ree kept saying they were "sweating to deff," which was a little bit of an exaggeration seeing as how it was only 59 degrees, but I was walking around in just a t-shirt, so I guess it couldn't be considered freezing or anything. On the way home, they asked me to turn on the air conditioning really, really high, and then Ro said we should go to the pool today. Ree thought that was a mighty fine idea. I told them there was no way, no how we were going to the pool today. That it was a completely ridiculous idea to swim in January.
Ahem. Well...
I probably don't even need to mention that we were the only ones at the pool, do I? And yeah, they had a ball.
PS: For the record, my body did not touch that water. The whole family knows that I don't get in the pool unless the weather is at least in the 80s, preferably the 90s. The girls totally accept that rule, although they obviously don't subscribe to it. Also, TubaDad is in Massachusetts right now, and his high temp for the day might have reached 30 degrees. So I'm thinking that these pictures are either going to make him smile really big or really piss him off. Fifty fifty chance...

Boy am I envious that it was warm enough...at least for two 4 year olds...to go swimming.
ReplyDeletehee. they are way into tattoos, i see.....!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny. I thought we were doing well to take my daughters new bike out for a spin today. Sure there's still snow everywhere but you gotta take advantage of 30° day in January.
ReplyDeletebtw, we bought her the Italtrike & we both love it!
Ahh...I'm just lauging my head off here. (And...ahem....it's way below freezing here...just so you know.)
ReplyDeleteYour twinados really picked the right parents. I don't know too many who could keep up with them.
I always enjoy their antics.
:)
Hahah. Casey would love that. She doesn't care how cold it is either. Crazy kids.
ReplyDeleteIt made it all the way up to a balmy 38 in the Boston suburbs today! Definitely time for a swim. : )
ReplyDeleteI see the Polar Bear Club in their futures! LOL
ReplyDeleteI am getting cold just looking at those pictures!
ReplyDeleteLook at them jumping off the side with wild abandon. Last time I was at the pool with your guys they were still a little cautious. And I'm with you. I don't get in the pool unless the air temp is in the high 80's!
ReplyDeleteWhat pool is open at this time of year?
ReplyDeleteHere in Oz, in January, it is peaking some days at 40 celsius so the girls would be 'sweating to deff' everyday and also swimming every day. :)
ReplyDeletePlease tell me that's a heated pool!!!! I won't get into ours unless the water is 90 degrees :)
ReplyDeleteI go swimming all year around in an open air pool!!! My mum goes more regularly! I'm pleased to see the girls are part mermaid too!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are just too funny! It would have to be 90 for me!
ReplyDeleteYou've had all four seasons in the last month!
ReplyDeleteAwesome !
Glad pool time was fun :)
TubaDad wasn't THAT cold...it was in the balmy mid-30s yesterday, and is headed for the 40s today!
ReplyDeleteHa! What they can convince you into doing!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you with the not swimming until the water is really warm. I'd rather be sweaty than cold.
Are you kidding me? I don't think we have broke 32 degrees. You lucky bunch. But, I do have to admit, my body wouldn't have touched the water either. 59 degress is a bit cold, but to a zealous 4 year old....hey, its great!!
ReplyDeletefirst- that is just cruel and wrong to post that for the rest of us!!!
ReplyDeletesecond-- Amen to not jumping in there! i don't get in the water unless the WATER is in the high 80's!!!!!!
third-- what happened to those pudgy little legs???!!
I love the tattoos!!!! Hilarious. And I would also be in "observe will only jump in to save" mode. They are so darn cute! If the AFV video is the one of them spinning in your house I will find a way to get to LA to vote. I love that clip.
ReplyDeleteSmileyalways!
These girls make me want to live! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weather enough for the both of us...I'm staring out at snow. I can't believe you were just snow skiing and now you are swimming. Your state rocks.
Best, Indiana Lori
Love the tattoos...and I'm sure the pool staff were excited to see someone---ANY ONE--in January!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they had a blast splashing around! Love their ink:)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Lisa
Okay...you are killing me! If Savannah sees these pics she is going to be MAD at me and wonder why she can't swim in Grandma and Papa's pool! Looks like they had an awesome time! Glad to see the tattoos are still hanging around! Poor Tuba Dad in the COLD!!
ReplyDeleteMarc and I get cold opening the refrigerator so I got goosebumps looking that your photos! Love and admire the girls gusto!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteSoooo jealous of all that warm weather...snow here. Ugh. Just stumbled onto your blog, and I'm glad I did!
