Nothing says "happy birthday" like a pyrotechnic candle

Happy birthday TubaDad! Sorry you had to work on your birthday, but hope the "creative" kiddo-present-wrapping jobs, enchilada dinner, icecream cake, sticky hugs, and fireworks on top of your cake made you smile like you make us smile. IMG_1441LR DSC_1441LR We love you! PS: If you too need a candle like this, it comes in pink, yellow, and blue, and I got it at mybirthdaycandle.com.

  15. That is one really neat candle. We may have to figure out who in our family will get one of those this year. And I love that one of the sweeties is holding her nose at the end because of the smoke.

Happy Birthdy TD and Happy Birthday in advance M3. Have a great year.

  28. Wow - I'm completely in awe that you found one of those! We got ours in Nanchang, China - when we picked up our daughter. I've looked for them since then! We used hers on her first birthday with us (2 yrs old) and we had completely forgotten how pyrotechnic it was! LOL! Thanks for posting this! :)

  33. Happy Birthday TubaDad! And Happy Birthday to you, M3, a day early!

Here's a link to the lifebook template site: www.MyStoryLifebooks.com

I used the template but expanded it quite a bit. Still, it was a great way to begin this overwhelming project that has been sitting on the back burner for over 3 years!

Hope you and your hubby have a fantastic birthday week!!!

  34. What is that thing they are standing on - where did you get it? We so need one. If anyone reading this knows please tell me.

Happy Birthday to both of you!

  35. Hi Samantha and Woody: it's a Learning Tower. They come in white, natural, dark, and red. We added locking castor wheels to the bottom of ours so it can move around the kitchen easily.

  36. We used the exact same candle for our son's birthday (and our daughter's) this year, bought at our local grocery store. We first discovered them, though, IN CHINA-- we were in Chongqing, where they make them. They're called lotus candles (the ones we bought in China are much more impressive than the ones made there and shipped off to our local grocery store). Still, pretty cool!

  37. Hi Erin: They're not reusable. Although they will keep spinning and playing Happy Birthday until you snip the little wire.

  38. Okay That was pretty cool!! Being a Pryo Tech myself, Awesome! Being late to the party... Happy B-Day Tuba Dad!!!
