More beachbuminess

We *were* going to hike downtown and get some yummy fresh-baked scones for breakfast, but we were all too cold and too lazy, so we ate the only thing we had in the beachhouse, Trix. Gag. Just my personal opinion, but Trix really are for kids. (Ree left, Ro right): DSC_2303 We waited for the temp to get into the 50s then ran to the beach. Once there, Ro and Ree got right to work moving driftwood around again. They eventually built a "house" with office, bedroom, bathroom, toll gate, and a gymnastics bar to turn flips on. It was quite an architectural feat, but the architects were having some disagreements, so it got rearranged frequently. IMG_0554 (Ro left, Ree right) Gotta have snacks, right? They kept their Cheez-Its and bottled water in "the cupboard." IMG_0542 Typing letters on the Flintstone-ish computer in "the office": IMG_0557 IMG_0561 This is what happens when you try to take a self portrait while your giggly girls are making pirate sounds and waving their legs wildly in the air: IMG_0533 A light lunch in "the kitchen": IMG_0565 Wheeeee, let's go play in the waves (the girls, not the grownups, notice that I am wearing a turtleneck, and am in no danger of exposing any body parts to the chilliness): IMG_0570 "Look out, mama, look out, the waves are going to get you!": IMG_0580 Awwwww: IMG_0594 IMG_0596 IMG_0585 Crazy kiddos played in the edge of the waves until Ro tripped and got doused. Brrrrr. Later we tortured Maggie by seeing if she could set up 3D Candyland. Have you attempted to play it? More importantly, have you tried to play it with small, wiggly children? It is utterly maddening. DSC_2313

Those last pictures definitely reminded me of the video when one of them, I don't recall which at the moment, fell right into that wave! haha, the poor doll! Glad to see you guys are having fun!

  2. Looks like loads of fun even if it isn't 100 degrees :0) I especially loved the earlier post on how to make smores without a campfire. We must try that!
I can't believe how much the girls have changed. I've not been on the computer for quite some time for health reasons and so today, while I'm feeling up to it, I'm playing catch up. I feel as though I have missed soo very much with everyone.

  3. Little different then the video several years ago of running from the waves and then falling down and crying. Next year... Surfing!

  4. I love their outfits. The leggings are wonderful! I would love to have a lunch like that. We got 5 inches of snow yesterday. It has melted now, but the sand looks devine.

I think the picture of them holding hands is wonderful!

So glad to see you didn't get cold or any UV rays....that made me laugh. I am a cover up kinda girl too in the cold.

  11. Hi Katta, LOL, it's not *our* beachhouse, we just rent it. It's our favorite one to rent. Although I would kill to own a beachhouse. Maybe someday...

Oh, and I'm totally stealing that s'mores idea from the last post. That's like the best of all possible worlds. Woohoo.
