Boring, I know. But that's how our day has been. It's just that little Ree gave me her cold and I feel even-less-enthusiastic-than-usual about cleaning up the kitchen and whipping up something for dinner.
Before I heave myself off the couch (and in a fully disclosed effort to procrastinate), here are a few quick pics of the girls this morning. They looked so cute that I couldn’t resist grabbing the camera this morning before we hopped in the car. Ro is wearing the brown “I ♥ chocolate” tee, and Ree is wearing I-don’t-even-know-how-many layers, including a black dress over a brown and green skirt that’s the reverse of Ro’s.
They’re so funny. When I start clicking, they get all helpful and yell out things like “You need your gray card, mama?” and “You gots enough light, mama?” Heh. Little hecklers.
Alrighty, off to throw some fish in the oven and some artichoke in the microwave. TubaDad’s traveling, so we pig out on things he won’t normally eat (he says eating artichoke is “too much work for too little food).
What little cuties! how do you microwave artichokes I love them but them take forever to boil. hope you feel better.
ReplyDeleteThey are such beauties!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh no... you're sick? I hate it when that happens. Especially when husbands are away! Hope the artichokes make it all better. Well, that and your beautiful girls :)
ReplyDeleteI feel the way TubaDad does about crab legs. I always say it's too much work to such a small amount of seafood.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon!
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Poor sweetie!
ReplyDeleteAdorable, cute pics of your oh so sweet little girlies!
Hi Cora, it's funny, but microwaving is the only way I know how to make them! I get three medium-sized chokes, cut off the stems and a smidge of the bottoms, then put them in a glass cooking pot with a lid (like this one), fill the pot with about two inches of water, put the lid on, then microwave for 8-10 minutes. They're done when you can easily pull out a leaf. Easy peasy. I give each person a little bowl with a mixture of mayo, lemon juice, and dill for dipping.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I can totally see the Ree eyebrow thing in some of these pictures now!
ReplyDeleteMan! I am sorry you are sick too. Sunday night was my WORST. Monday morning after I got Maylin to preschool, I came home and went back to bed and didn't get up until I had to get her at noon. Today, I had no choice. Everything was due either tomorrow or Thursday. Tonight I have sucked down a lot of drugs.
ReplyDeleteI really hope you get feeling better. This sucks!!! Kinda nice to know that I am not suffering alone.
At least, you have cute things to look at while you are sick. They are adorable!
You can microwave artichokes? Do tell! PLEASE!
ReplyDeleteOops! Nevwer mind. I see your response! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteFeel better!
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon. I love artichokes but Eammon feels the same as TD though he will eat them if I put them in front of him.
ReplyDeleteHow do you get your girl to give you a natural smile? My kids faces freeze into weird grimace/smiles as soon as I pick up the camera.
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable! I [heart} that shirt!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same... three weeks of sniffling and hacking is pretty darn boring. I feel really bad for you, though, cuz Tuba Dad is away. Hope you feel better very soon!
ReplyDeletefeel better soon
