The little babes had a short “Meet the Teacher” meeting today in their very own Kindergarten room with their very own Kindergarten teacher. Oh the excitement!!
Wela, Maggie, and JaJa all stopped by before the meeting to give back-to-school hugs:
And Ro and Ree picked out very special “Meet the Teacher” outfits today. As always, the various origins of the pieces cracks me up. Ro (on the left in the below pics)(oh wait, I don’t even need to say that anymore do I? sheesh) chose a polkadot pink and purple Boden top that was handed down from her friends H2 and S2, a hairbow that the granddaughter of my childhood neighbor made her (Hi Mrs J!), a skirt that she bought at Target this summer, last-year’s Valentine’s Day leggings from Target, Hello Kitty socks, and her new silver sparkly school shoes that she picked out herself at Nordstrom a few days ago. Ree went back and forth this morn, then settled on a bright striped Hanna Andersson dress that we found at Costco (did you know they have some Hanna Andersson stuff at Costco now?!), some stripey Carters kneesocks that Wela bought her, a star headband that our foreign exchange student from the 70s gave her at Christmas, and her new patent leather school shoes that she picked out at Nordstrom. Their outfits just made me grin!
They are so proud of their new school shoes it’s adorable. And the huge difference in styles is SO them:
Adorable little honeys. Your daddy and I are so proud of you and SO excited for your Kindergarten year. You two are going to have the BEST year:
The end. Well actually it’s just the beginning, seeing as how tomorrow is the FIRST DAY of Kindergarten (squeal!), but this picture just screams “the end” doesn’t it?:
PS: We chose to put the girls in the same room for Kindergarten, which is especially good now that Ro is Ree’s bathroom buddy for as long as she has a cast. :-)
Hang in there. The first day of Kindergarten is quite the momentous occasion. Find a few moms and go to coffee, mani-pedi's and enjoy some adult time. Did wonders for me when Caroline started Kinder last year. This year she is in 1st grade and goes full days. Now my issue is I have one in elementary and one in middle school. Should be interesting for pick-ups!
ReplyDeleteNo way! I remember how hard it was to send my first and last to kindergarten. It is really tough. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteThey look so cute....as usual!
Did you decide to put them in the same class room or split them up??
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda: they're in the same room.
ReplyDeleteConfounded yet again by a comment. I suspect poor anon is to be bombarded so I will leave her alone. But - seriously? Ah, wait, I bet anon is your mom just getting everyone riled up so you get eight zillion comments about how perfectly adorably wonderful they looked to meet their teacher!
ReplyDeleteLucky teacher!
ReplyDeleteThey are so colorful!! Heaven help their teacher ;)
ReplyDeleteAnother huge step. I remember it was hard for Dahlia because she was going to a school without her best friend whom she had attended 2years of pre-school with. It was even harder for me. :(
ReplyDeleteThey have each other and I'm so glad they're in the same class. My sister and I were separated and that was so tough. Time enough for that, I think.
Coffee with the some girls is a good idea tomorrow.
Samantha and Woody: Yeah, I figured Anon was having an ignorant day so I helped him or her out by deleting the comment.
ReplyDelete:-)
They will be awesome together!! I have had twins in my classroom together for the last 4 years-no worries either. The kids do so well with their siblings. I can't believe they are starting school so early. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteMy twins were together in Kindergarten as well - worked out perfectly - the kids were able to tell them apart almost immediately - their teacher on the other hand had a "mental block" for their names - even with the same clues ever day (similar to your bracelets on the opposite arms) but she and never quite got it right!! We split them last year in 1st grade - and it was perfect b/c they were adjusted to the new school, school routine and had tons of friends...plus it gave them a break from being together 24/7.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to Ree and Ro tomorrow!
Good luck girls and enjoy kindergarten!! Did the yellow gloves actually make it to school too?
ReplyDeleteI remember when you were debating about the whole kindergarten thing..... when to send them, split them up, keep together, etc. Now I find myself staring kindergarten in the face and don't know what to do. Send, wait a year, etc. You could do a whole informative post of your kindergarten thought process that some of us would just love.
ReplyDeleteAnyway..... kindergarten!!!! They're in kindergarten!!! How did that happen?
I have been following you for so long. Our LID was 7/8/05..I was in the group that you missed by one day.....I can't believe we were that close to traveling together.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe our babies are old enough to begin kindergarten. Claire is so excited to have a real classroom, pencils, papers, and folders. She is so used to "just playing" school at home. So sorry to hear about the arm. YOUCH!!!!!
Such a great family you have....enjoy the school year.
Ro isn't on the left. :) Wouldn't that be Ree with the jazzy cast?
ReplyDeleteOh, and please let the dynamic duo know that Kenna and Michal send their very best wishes for a wonderful first day of Kindergarten!
ReplyDeleteThey said to tell them that KINDERGARTEN ROCKS!
Perfect outfits. You must tell us all about the first day (for you and for the girls)!
ReplyDeleteOh funny, Kristi! I meant the below pics. Should probably go back and make that clearer!
ReplyDeleteThe yellow gloves crack me up!! My oldest started high school today - it's not any easier than kindergarten!! I hope you adjust as quickly as they do ;)
ReplyDeleteHope they have a wonderful first day!
ReplyDeleteAdorable outfits and great pics, as usual! ;) They are so cute; you sure are blessed to have such wonderful little girls!
ReplyDeleteThey look so ready for kindergarten, Sophie and Sage think they'll love it like they did.
ReplyDeleteSad to see such a large cast on Ree, she's a trooper!
Today's the big day!! Wheee!!! Have a great time at kindergarten girlies! You'll have tons of fun and we can't wait to hear all about it! Oooo....will we get a first day of kindergarten video? Looking forward to seeing what your bright baby girls choose to wear today! They'll start a whole new fashion trend in kindergarten and all the kiddos will be layering with style! Adorable shoes they chose and how neat that their own personalities are coming out that way!
ReplyDeleteLove to all...and big hugs to mama!
xoxo
OH my they've already started! Kacey has the exact same black shoes from Nordstroms and I am going to surprise her with the pink ones on Monday when she has to done the dreaded khaki uniform:)
ReplyDeleteshut the door! kindergarten??? omgosh need it all happen so fast??
ReplyDelete(by the way, in LOVE with their fashion sense. in LOVE).
and wondering now what happened to that broken arm and need to do some back reading!
Wow, Kindergarten! How exciting! I remember a while back you had posted about trying to decide to move them to kindergarten at 4 or wait until they were 5. I am trying to make this decision now since Naomi's birthday is in October. I'd love to hear what helped you make your decision!
ReplyDeleteI love these cuties! Kindergarten?!! Sniff! I am jealous of their teacher!!! (Although I'd rather have the task of entertaining Ro and Ree all day than have an entire room full of them!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a big step for the girls! And for you! I hope they have a fantastic year, I'm sure they will. I like that you put them in the same class.
ReplyDeleteOh that is SO exciting! I was wondering if you were sending them this year or not. We'll have to talk. I LOVE their outfits! They are totally going to ROCK kindergarten!!
ReplyDeleteAmyesq
Ooooh, kindergarten! My girls started two weeks ago, same class too (that was a struggle). I hope (know) you'll get better first day of school pics than we did (both standing outside the school yawning) and can't wait to see them. Happy First Day of School, Ro and Ree from The Black-eyed Peas.
ReplyDeleteYour little ones are so adorable! I love the fashion sense and that you allow them to be creative!! Yeah M3!!! I do the same. My daughter just saw the Lelli Kellis she wishes for them everytime we see them...but man the price!!! Although about a month ago they did have some at TJMaxx, but of course not our size :( My little one starts full day K in 2 weeks, YIKEs!!!
ReplyDeleteThe pics are adorable....i love their fashion choices too !! Hope all goes well with first day (will be harder for Mama i think). Have fun,and enjoy because in the blink of an eye, they will be graduating high school.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe they are going to Kindergarten..... they were just little babies???
ReplyDeleteI am sure they had a great day and we are all looking forward to hearing all about it.
They look so super cute in their coloful outfits. Seriously, they are going to take Kindergarten by storm. Let the fun begin!
xoxo,
Lisa
Just a clarification M3-by early I meant it's still August! I don't start until the 8th!!! My friend works in Red something or other and he already started too. I don't know what I'd do if I had to go back this week!
