Am I crazy, or is the purple hair just darling?

DSC_9347LR2

As mentioned before, Ree and Ro are going to be fairies for Halloween. They picked out their costumes a looooong time ago, so I thought we were just going to coast lazily into the holiday, not even having to think about costumes this month. I should have known we weren’t done. Since they got the outfits early, they just keep finding new squeal-worthy accessories each week. The latest additions are these purple and pink wigs, which are actually super cute. (I’m particularly partial to the purple one, and just grin like a fool when she wears it.) DSC_9345LR

Oh well, they’ve got dresses, wings, wands, fairy treat buckets, and flower crowns. There’s nothing else they could possibly add, right?

If you’re wondering what happened to Ree’s neon yellow cast, it was removed last week, and now she just wears the black splint day and night for one week, then daytime only for the second week, and then “anytime you’re expecting rough play” for the third week. The splint is nice because we can take it off to wash her hand, take a bath, or go swimming. So (at least for now) it doesn’t REEK like the casts did.

They’re wearing the ubercute Halloween capri pants our friend Dawn made last year. I didn’t think the girls looked very different than the last time they wore them, but then I went back at found last year’s pic:DSC_4259LR

Oh. Yeah. :-)

Update on the house(s): The big news is that we’re closing escrow on the new house in about a week and have a buyer and are in contract to sell our current house (can I get a woooohoooooo?!). We’ll be doing some painting and construction (we’re changing the small kids’ room into “the twin palace” by making it bigger and adding a walk-in closet – more details and pics later) and plan to move into the new house the week of October 25. Close-of-escrow on our current house is slated for Halloween.

Congrats on the sale of your house (especially in this market!!!) and the purchase of your new house.

I can see punk rockers in your future.

  2. You're right! Those wigs are adorable. It looks so funny to see your girls with anything but their gorgeous black hair.

WOOOHOOOOOO!!! about the house!! Hannah and I can\t wait to come check out our new room! :o)

So happy for Ree that she's almost cast free. What a little trooper she is and Ro's a great sissy to help her through this. You have awesome kiddos....just like their mama! xoxo

  3. So happy you sold the house. One suggestion from me - I designed our house 24 years ago and one of the best things I did was my closet. I built in the dresser drawers and also floor to ceiling shoe racks. Cedar line the entire closet. I also built in a bench seat with a hinged lid on it so you can store stuff inside the seat - I put all kinds of travel stuff in there. And you can sit down whenever you want. Also, I built in an ironing board and put electrical plugs everywhere I could. You can plug clothes steamers in, etc. I would love to build again - loved the entire process.

  7. I love those pants that Dawn makes! I just pulled out the Tongginator's tonight in her closet (it's been WARM here until now) and I'm betting she'll pull them on tomorrow.

As for the purple hair... it is gorgeous and would look even more gorgeous with the addition of glitter.

  8. Congratulations on the house(s)! I know it will be a relief when all of this is finished.

  9. Nope, you're not crazy - they are fabulous!! I know a certain someone who would want both. (We kind of have the pinkish one but the purple is to die for. lol)

And is it just me or is Ree getting taller than her sweet sis? And if so, have either of them noticed?

Great news about the house. I'm looking forward to seeing the new digs.

  12. Yeah on the house news! What a relief. If you remember, I copied those pants from last year, and made them into skirts. We'll be pulling those out tomorrow. The shirts still fit, and I'm pretty sure the skirts will too.

Same here: the girls want to be Princesses we already own, but are now telling me they'll need all the accessories... which, we don't own. Yet, I guess!

  14. I'm glad things are working out on both houses -- I've wondered, but figured if you didn't post anything, there wasn't anything to talk about!

Can't believe how much they've grown height-wise since last year...but the pants are even darn cuter as capris!

  15. Geesh girl, you don't mess around! Are you packing or what? The wigs are AWESOME, and I can't believe how much they have grown in a years time!

  16. Congratulations on the houses!

caAny chance you can get Dawn to share the pattern she used for the pants? I can figure out the ribbon, but as a novice sewer, I need a little help with the pattern part. Even a name or pattern number would be great.
