Apparently we’re starting off five-and-a-half with a bang. Ro and Ree both got in trouble over and over at school yesterday. The little delinquents had to miss recess, then had to miss free choice, then apparently continued to have enough problems that their teacher left her line of kids at dismissal and came over to talk to me about the day. Lovely. The only saving grace was that she said it was very unlike them and very unusual. Whew!
I separated the girls as soon as we got home and had long talks with both of them to get the full stories (TubaDad says I’m using police interrogation techniques, but hey it works). There were many tears and much wailing (primarily bemoaning the indignity of missing recess and free choice as far as I could tell). After we had finished talking about good behavior, I told the girls to grab some paper and write apology notes to their sainted teacher. They were still in separate rooms, and I told them to write what they were sorry for, what they could do better, and something nice about their teacher.
The notes just KILL me (especially where Ree wrote that she “might” behave way better.) Bwah ha!
Hope the notes make Mrs. T. smile. And I’m thinking a box of really nice chocolate wouldn’t hurt either.
