First weekend in October, must be pumpkin-patch time!!

Little Ree gasps when the hayride goes through the massive “Mariegold” field and Ro makes sure she gets the “Rosebud” cow on the cowtrain. They’ve done it every year since they were two.

Bales of hay are good for about an hour of rolling and running it seems:

Ro and Ree liked the pony rides and playing in a nearby Halloween superstore the best. I liked that massive pumpkin-shooting cannon (I was the champion and think my dad needs to build one for our next pumpkin-carving party!), and I’ll have to ask TubaDad what he liked the best. Awesome day with wonderful friends and family.

Happy fall!

  4. The pumpkin cannon was FUN! It's brand new this year at the patch, and apparently they bought it online from Lousiana (where all good pumpkin cannons come from, I imagine, heh). It has two safety triggers that the operator has to depress before you can fire, and it's loaded up with small pumpkins (about the size of grapefruits). You aim it at whichever target you like, then push the button and a massive compressed-air charge blasts the pumpkins out of the cannon. They had bullseye targets, a truck, and several other things in the cornfield.

  5. Heh....I can only imagine the damage you could do with a pumpkin canon! After what we carried back from our shopping that one night a pumpkin canon would be right up your alley! :o)

Fun pics of the kiddos enjoying their fall fun! Such a beautiful time of year although I'm in great envy of TD wearing shorts! Sat I had to pull out my winter coat. Humph!

  8. Wahahaha, a pumpkin cannon! I live in the Netherlands, and we celebrate Halloween so I thought: "Wow, in the US they REALLY have cool Halloween gadgets". But now I read that I'm not the only one for whom this is a new thing. So there is hope still; maybe in a few years, some gardencentre here will import one. From Louisiana of course! :)
