Scootering, now with more sparks

Ro and Ree took their new spark scooters out for a quick spin tonight and I can definitely see progress. They’re figuring out the whole balance thing and making more sparks by the minute.IMG_0593LR

Ro is getting the hang of things pretty quickly and can make a fairly impressive spark trail by now. Ree is a little hindered by the fact that she turns her head (and therefore the scooter) every time the sparks start, but she just can’t resist looking. She makes up for it though by yelling “Ha!!” quite emphatically anytime she has to turn the scooter around. The kid cracks me up.

It’s interesting that Ree prefers to plant her right foot and scoot with the left one while Ro is the opposite. It’s one of the few things I can think of where they mirror each other. Now I’m curious about cartwheels and other leg-dominant activities. Will have to keep my eyes open this week to see.

Which hand does each girl write with?

  5. They both write with the right hand and do everything else with the right hand also (scissors, chopsticks, painting, toothbrushing)

Tell Ree you will record her sparks and she can watch them later?

I asked about handedness because it often goes with side dominance and one daughter is using her left foot. I am left handed and would use my left foot to do the pushing of the scooter and keep my right foot solidly on the scooter.

  8. That's what I thought. It will be interesting to see if there's any difference with other things, I have the feeling that they use different legs for cartwheels and hopping but will check to be sure. Oh, and I just thought of one other - they wink with different eyes.

oh my DD would be so jealous, she loves her scooter, but one that sparked would be the ultimate. I wonder how much it would cost to get it shipped from the US to us on the other side of the world ... :-)
