Almost the end

We go home tomorrow, so we got in as much water time as possible today.

Don’t they look like two little old ladies walking along arm in arm dishing out non-stop commentary on their surroundings? I have no doubt that this is exactly how they’ll look when they’re 80.

Here we have TubaDad and his girls. I think the smirk on Ree’s face (left) and the stare-down on Ro’s are pretty good indicators of the trouble these two will give their daddy when they’re teenagers…

Ree and Ro wear more layers than anyone I know, even in Hawaii. But they do sort of make it look islandy.

After playing in the water for most of the day, and trying yet another fish sandwich (this one was from Merriman’s and was my absolute fave on Kauai, and trust me I tried them all), we chilled out for a couple of hours. Some of us napped, some read, and some watched movies. It was slow and lovely.

Feeling all refreshed, we had a little nighttime beach action.

And ate a fab dinner. Mine had forbidden black rice, which was to die for -- I am totally going to try making it when we get home. Has anyone ever made it before or seen it in stores?

Now they are all (once again) snoring but me, so I’d better catch up. Night!
