The girls have always loved to bake. I think we started them when they were about a year and a half old. They thought it was magical (still do).
This morning they were SO excited to bake something in the new kitchen. Our stuff is 90% put away (that was a loooooooong day yesterday), so we actually had bowls, measuring cups, muffin tins, and all the necessary accoutrements. Ahhhhh.
This first pic cracks me up because I accidentally caught clouds of powder in the air all around Ro. (The girls are nothing if not enthusiastic with their baking):
Little Ree likes to stir (and sneak tastes, she thinks I don’t know that part, but I’ve known she did it since that very first time – see above pic):
Beautiful Ro says she wants to open a bakery when she grows up:
You know there are never just two hands doing any tasks around here, right?
Can’t you just hear Ro thinking “Argh, is it MY turn yet?!!”:
Nothing at all to do with baking, just admiring my new purdy island light:
Afterwards they ran outside and sat on their pink car to eat some muffins. Not sure why, but it was cute:
Cheers!
What do each of you like best about it so far?
ReplyDeleteIf i had a pink car i'd sit on it and eat muffins to!
ReplyDeleteOH MY FREAK!!! I remember those days when you would cook with the wee ones! What a brave(amazing) momma! Reminds me that I need to get Tate baking with me again. LOVE the new light over the island. LOVE the new kitchen, too!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lisa, I always thought you were so brave when you cooked with them at such a young age (oh the mess I envisioned!) but now I think it was just pure genius. I envision many exciting science experiments in your future. :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are the sweetest of moments! How fun in your beautiful kitchen!
ReplyDeleteYa know, M3...these girls seem to have gone from being cute as buttons to absolutely beautiful lately. Watch out world when they get to be 16! Tubadad is gonna have to keep a shotgun by the front door.
ReplyDeleteMy DD is the same age as your girls, and aren't they just beautiful at this age? (Well okay, they're always beautiful). Losing that babyish look and really looking so confident and self assured.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the kitchen! The light over the islands awesome, it reminds me of a tea ball, you know for loose tea. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe girls are just so grown up looking. They really need to stop it!
Absolutely love the last two photos.
ReplyDeleteToday, you can download the Amazing Cakes book from The Kindle Store free. One of the cakes is a fire-breathing dragon. :-)
ReplyDeletePrecious moments. I love the pics of when the girls were younger too. They're such beautiful little girls!
ReplyDeletemmmm...muffins! Just this weekend Hannah was talking about their pink car and said she wanted to go for a ride!
So sweet. Man, they have Grown UP! I love great traditions like that.
ReplyDeleteYour island light is AWESOME.
I love all of these! Really cool how you caught the "cloud" in that one image!
