And they’re off!

DSC_1752-EditLR

This is the third time I’ve done this now, and it’s still a little shocking when the bell rings, your kids disappear into classrooms, and the doors shut on that first day of school.

I always feel like saying “Wait!!!!” But I don’t (at least not out loud, whew).

PS1: Because this stuff amuses me later, Ree and Ro’s first day of school lunches (chosen by them) were cheese rollups (sliced Tillamook rolled up in tortillas and held with flower picks), sliced nectarine, goldfish crackers, seaweed, and a butterscotch.

PS2: Because I know someone will ask, the girls are still the same height as of last measuring, with maybe 1/16th of an inch different between the two. The differences you see in these pics are in the way they’re standing.

I'm getting ready to send my twins to preschool. I don't know how I'm going to do it.

Oh my goodness, I remember when you brought them home. How could they now be second graders? I can't be that much older....

I taught second grade for years and love this age.

  10. I'm amazed at how many comments include the early date. Everyone but my girls in Indiana are back in school already. We start next week, and we are by a couple of weeks, the last to start. They look like 2nd graders, which feels weird, having followed this blog for so long!!!

Oh, wow - school starts as early there as it does here in Atlanta. I thought the entire state of CA went back after Labor Day.

I have been a reader for a while and cannot believe they are already in second grade. They are growing prttier every year. We don't start until the end of August around here.

    Have a good school year!
