The best-laid plans...

DSC_7894LRApparently this will not come as a surprise to one single person, but we’re foster failures on our first try.

This little guy isn’t going anywhere, he’s already home.

The girls have named him Dusty, and he’s been very busy (between naps) getting familiar with the yard, the neighborhood kids, and all the best sunny spots in the house.

He’s just a love, and thinks every person and dog he meets is a friend.DSC_7974LRDSC_7952LR

After all that hard wagon work, Dusty needed another nap:

It’s so tiring keeping up with four people:

PS: We’re calling him a TeriPomeHuahua. It makes us smile.

  3. This is exactly why I'm not allowed to foster or volunteer at the SPCA - we have three cats (and twin toddlers!), and my husband says I can't bring in anything else that poops - and he knows I'm a soft touch! Congratulations on your new addition - he's precious!

    So excited!!

Do you happen to know the circumstances that lead to him being at the shelter? He sounds like the perfect dog!

    1. Ditto!!! Failed Fosters are Love Winners. Nothing better than a rescue furbaby. Seriously, nothing better. It is a passion of mine.

I am so glad that you gave him a name and over time I bet he gets a lot of nicknames! You are not a foster failure in your doggie's heart. You are his forever family. It's the term we use when we place a rescued Corgi and it is so fitting for all of you.

  20. Yep. He belongs there. Congratulations!

  21. If this is what being a failure is.....yeah for failures! The picture of him in the wagon is priceless! Congrats....dogs have a way of "picking" out their owners & I know Dusty made the perfect choice.

And GREAT name choice says the Mom to furbaby Dusty.

Congrats there is nothing like a childhood (or any stage really) with a dog. So so so happy you rescued an older dog. :)
