And wouldn’t stop. We drove all the way around the lake checking out the view and looking for a nice semi-dry picnic spot and eventually gave up and ate in the car looking at the lake. See that table closest to the water, that’s where we would have eaten… Ro said we had a “carnic.”
We drove past Camp Richardson, which is normally packed with tents as far as the eye can see in every direction, and it was completely deserted. Not one single tent or hardy camper left. We looked at that and thought “Uh oh…” And sure enough, the drive home was slooooooooooow. Rain the whole way and every single person fleeing Tahoe ended up on that two-lane road at the same time.
carnic...child is brilliant. Sorry you got washed out of paradise.
ReplyDeleteWe are "enjoying" your Tahoe rain right now. Sorry you got rained out but still looks like a fun time. Fun to see Dusty along for the trip. Lucky DOG!
ReplyDeleteWell, if it is any consolation and I imagine it won't be, it is crappy weather everywhere. Sorry you had to cut your trip short.
ReplyDeleteWe had that rain while we were gone on vacation. We heard about it from our neighbors. It was pretty heavy they say.
