Ro and Ree got to do some awfully neat stuff at circus camp this week. They woke up every morning excited to go and wore huge smiles every day at pickup, happily chattering about (and demonstrating) what they learned. Definitely doing it again next summer.
This is the rolla bolla. (BobBob – please make one for the girls!). Ro said this was her fave thing in camp, along with the scarf juggling:
Ree loved it too, and it was cool to see the big kids using these while juggling, spinning plates, and other things:
Here’s the start of double sticks (Ro abandoned the other sticks for some reason) and diabolo:
The clowning skits were so funny! I didn’t expect that (usually clowns annoy me). The kids did one skit called Music Box and one called Dead or Alive. Ree said the clowning was her fave part of camp.
And that’s a wrap.
Goooooooo monkeys!
Best of all... made it to the end without an emergency room visit or cast!
ReplyDeleteI believe I owned a rolla bolla (called something different) when I was a teenager. It was for learning balance for various sports like skiing, surfing, etc. Great exercise, as I recall.

Ain't that the truth!!! (in class and out of it) Can't tell you how many times I told the girls "don't break any bones, you don't want to miss circus camp!" this week and last week.
DeleteWhat a hoot and so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThe rolla bolla looks like it would be great for balance for any age!
What's in store for next week?
Next week is a half-day art camp that's focusing on Asia (they do different regions every week).
DeleteLooks like fun - wish they had circus camp when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteMe too!!!
DeleteI want to go to circus camp! How fun. I didn't even know that kind of thing existed. Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be fun?! And we were all in it together we could have a bbq or go for happy hour afterwards... ahhhh.
