Party prep is in full swing

Ro and Ree wanted a pink and brown horse birthday party this year and said it just had to be at home (despite my pleading compelling arguments to do it somewhere, anywhere else) because that “made it special.”

Alrighty then, the party is this weekend, so the race is on! I just finished making the horse party favor bags, and think they turned out pretty cute.

If anyone wants to make them, I used small brown paper lunch bags (the ones that are 6” wide), 3 colors of brown paper, black and white paper, gluestick, and brown and white Sharpie pens. Oh, and a really good pair of scissors – there was a lot of precise cutting. You can get everything but the lunch bags at Michael’s.

Next up, need to order and/or shop for all the food, stuff the pinata, finish the decorations, get all of the supplies ready for the games (stomp-the-fly, sugar-cube relay, and horse races), make cupcake picks, and, well a whole bunch of other stuff that I really need to be doing right now instead of blogging. ;-)

So doggone (horsegone??) cute, M3. What a wonderful way to celebrate the girls' birthdays and their love of their horses. I think I'd get a little hay and spread it around and also some sugar cubes. Please post photos.

    1. My mom picked up some little mini bales, they're going to look so cute on the table! And I didn't think about decorating with sugar cubes - that'll be fun. Thanks!

  3. Do the girls help with making everything or is it all part of the birthday surprise?

    1. They help with everything they can - these girls have strong opinions on how they want things to look. Even before anything started, they asked me to do two separate party boards on Pinterest (dog party vs horse party) so they could really see things before they'd settle on the final theme.

Your girls are so easy to please. Most kids would have anted the party to be in some indoor jungle gym. Think of this as saving money for their sweet 16.

How about giving each birthday girl a live horse for their gift?
Too much? OK, how about kittens? ;-)
