Quite a nice Easter

The girls made an arrangement on the stairs late Saturday night with empty baskets, Hoppy Loppy (the enormous pink stuffed rabbit, to make the Easter Bunny feel at home I guess), a note to the Easter Bunny beseeching him to remember Dusty (threw a little monkey wrench in the plans), and a couple of baby teeth in eggs (one from Dusty and one from Ro).

Luckily, both the bun and the tooth fairy did their jobs without falling asleep on the couch or something and blowing it (as has been known to happen). And everyone was happy in the morning.

Mmm, breakfast!

After wardrobe change #2 or #3, the girls took Dusty for a long Easter walk (those turkeys always freak me out a little):

The folks came over for a nice ham dinner (the apricot glaze TubaDad made was delish!!):

After dinner we had a little bike show (the girls are attempting to learn a few bicycle tricks this week--bunny hopping, obstacle course weaving, and riding while waving):

That’s about it. It was a nice, peaceful, happy Easter. Hope everyone had a good day.

PS: Do I need to say who’s who? I never really know if it’s obvious or not. Ree has on the green polka dot pj bottoms and Ro the pink frog nightgown, Ree has the bigger bunny ears and Ro has on the added purple skirt in the white outfits, Ree has on the black star sweatsuit and Ro has on the grey sweater and blue leggings in the walk/bike outfits.

Hoppy Easter

Went to a fun little egg hunt today and the girls picked out extra-pink extra-long Eastery dresses to wear. On the way in, Ro (left) and Ree got to meet the main bun himself:

And hold a couple of ducklings:

Then they gabbed for a little while with the cousins and waited for the show:

It’s always cute to look out the window and see the toddler hunt area:

The bigger kids get to hop toward their area:

On your marks, get set, go!:

After lunch we had a little bike racing and Dusty cuddling:

Oh, and some iPad time. The cousins always love sharing new games and comparing high scores. Ro’s high score in Temple Run right now is 1,168,569. !!!!!:

These are the Easter crafts we made this year (from Oriental Trading Company – loved these):

And we dyed a few eggs:

Ree saw me taking pics and set up her own scene for me to photograph:

Tomorrow we’ll wake up bright and early to see what the bun brought. The girls wrote him a special note asking that he bring something for Dusty. And then will have a yummy ham dinner with the folks. (I’m making the ham, by the way – eeps – so if you have a fave recipe, preferable a foolproof one, PLEASE share.)

Now I think we’ll settle on the couch and watch a movie. Rise of the Guardians seems appropriate. Which reminds me, Ro is hoping for her own personal magical event tonight as she’s about to lose two teeth (they’re barely hanging on) and would be ecstatic if the Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny met tonight in this very house.

Happy Easter everyone!

~~~~~~
Exciting Update: TubaDad just popped Ro’s tooth out, so it is official, the Easter Bunny AND Tooth Fairy will be in our house at the same time tonight!
Twas the night before Easter...
...and the Easter Bunny was busy blogging instead of filling baskets. Hm, here is a quick blast of pics from today’s egg hunting, because I’d better hop to it.
We went to a morning egg hunt/party and nearly fell over when our two shy little girls waved their hands madly to attract Flynn Rider’s attention and then Ro was actually picked to go up and sing the healing song in front of everyone. And she did!!
Then, because they simply hadn’t reached their eggity fill yet, we came home and had Ro and Ree run hither and yon hiding five dozen plastic eggs for each other. Great plan, and TubaDad and I were sitting lazily in the sunshine congratulating ourselves on the brilliance of having them do all the work, UNTIL our eager bunnies came up short 31 eggs and have no idea where they’re hidden. Zoinks!
Happy Easter baby girls. I hope the bunny brings you the baskets of your dreams (and I hope there are some Hershey’s miniatures in there because I have it on good authority that *someone* has been hitting the bunny stash pretty hard this week).
Happy Easter everyone!
