Day 2: Why was I even bothering to dress them before?
This is the second day of letting the girls run amuck in their closet and pick whatever they want to wear, and I think they assembled some kick-butt outfits! Much more interesting than I would have chosen, and the outfits really show their personalities.
Ree went first, and chose a Pumpkin Patch shirt that she liked and then spent quite a bit of time flipping through the racks of clothes to find a long-sleeved undershirt with "some boo" (some blue) from Old Navy and a skirt and tights that had the gray she wanted to go with the shirt. Then she ran downstairs to play and Ro danced into the closet.
Ro gravitated immediately toward a brand-new ruffly pink Gymboree skirt then tried and rejected a few tops. She finally chose a little Old Navy flowered long-john top and pink striped tights. I have to admit to cringing while Ro was picking the shirts, but once she got the outfit on I actually loved the contrast of the fancy pink skirt and the sporty long-john shirt. Cute. Once downstairs the girls grabbed some shoes that made us all smile and jauntily posed for a pic or two.
Hey this is kinda fun! The girls are having a ball, and I think it might turn out to be just the ticket for this control-freak mama. I'm feeling amused and sort of relaxed right now... Ahhhhh. Wonder what they'll pick out tomorrow?

Pushing the envelope here, but still not bad. I'll give it two thumbs up. You know, they're precious no matter what.
ReplyDeleteWhat out Project RunWay I think we have to new up and coming Fashionista's
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should video their choices and start a youtube sensation of Ro and Ree's recommendations.
ReplyDeleteI love Ro giving a smooch to the photographer in pic #1, and giggling so hard behind her hands in pic #3. Very cute outfits--they've got some fashion sense!
ReplyDeleteI love the outfits. They look so cute.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's not half bad! Super cute, and what a fun experiment!
ReplyDeleteCurious to know if whoever picks second knows what the sister before picked. It's interesting to note how similar the girls are actually dressed on both days.
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Ashley: Good question! Ree picked first on Day 1, and I can't remember where Ro was at the time but I don't think she saw Ree's outfit before making her own choice. For Day 2 they were in separate rooms and couldn't see each other's outfits. It's kind of funny that they wore the same jacket on Day 1 and both picked skirts and tights on Day 2. I'll pay better attention for the next few days, because it is interesting.
ReplyDeleteThey have an incredible sense of style and color! Bravo to the 3-year olds!
ReplyDeleteThe boots are questionable, but all in all I think they're doing great!
ReplyDeleteI did this with Maggie a month ago or so and some of her choices were SO funny. We have run out of winter clothes to work with so I'm just waiting for warm weather!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if they might want to give my hubby a few tips! =)
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun! Love Ro's pink combo but then I'm a pink lovin gal! It's neat to see the way Ree mixed and matched her greys!
ReplyDeletei'm just waiting for when you announce you've been contacted by some modeling company.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I learned a long time ago that I need to let go. My new mantra is "If it won't kill or hurt, who cares." That said, Erin has gone out wearing the craziest outfits but happy as a clam. I think your girls are totally adorable in their chosen outfits.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea.. The girls are really good at colors..They seem to pick bright and happy ones, just like they are. Looking forward to tomorrow's outfits. Linda

my husband couldn't pick out my twins clothes this well...I lay it out the night before. I want..the same as you, control freak, but we have soo much tea collection and lily pulitzer and glug that the girls could probably do this as well....CRINGE!!!
ReplyDeleteYour girls are doing an awesome job!
What a great idea, and I love the outfits, so adorable. And the hair styles are too cute. Shayna is really into pink right now and I only have a few shirts that fit her. I better get shopping!
ReplyDeleteToo cute. My little Sierra has that same Old Navy longjohn top, and she just loves it. Super comfy, though after awhile, the neck stretches so wide it could very well accommodate a watermelon.
ReplyDeleteI think they have done extremely well with their clothing selections. They're only three years old and already know how to coordinate outfits. Look out, TubaDad! The wardrobes for two stylin' teens equal big ticket items in your future budget. Darling little girls!
ReplyDeleteMan I love their style!!! I so dressed like that in HS, except I had Doc Martins instead of rain boots! Cute stuff M3! Love the new header...yes Life is SOOOOO good!
ReplyDeleteI love the outfits they've picked out! So cute! In fact, I wish I could find that pink skirt in my size!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea to let them choose- I am definintely going to remember this for my little Tiger...
ReplyDeleteThey are super duper precious. Enjoy every minute of every day wiht them at this age!
I love how their personalities are coming out in their choices. They are so CUTE! I believe that with all there is to do in a day with twins, giving up their fashion choices is an easy decision! ;)
ReplyDeleteI think they are doing an awesome job! Keep up the great fashion wardrobe Ro and Ree!
