Ever look at other people's videos and think "Crap, my kid can't do that!"

Well this is not one of those videos. Here are Ro and Ree in their first (and hopefully not last) gymnastics show:

Little sweeties. They're still superstars in our book.

  1. Way to go Ro and Ree!!! You're doing so well!! Are the girls still going to be in gymnastics over the summer? Cute stuff for sure!!

Thanks for posting the video. Was hoping you would!

  2. That was just to sweet!! I always know I will smile when I come to your blog:)

  3. ADORABLE! I am cracking up though. Anna's first Taekwondo tournament looked EXACTLY the same way. A HUGE audience showed up and she freaked out completely. She's usually one of the better kids in the class but she wouldn't even let us put her on the floor in front of the judges. Too funny!

  4. Yeah!!! Way to go. I know they are totally good at gymnatstics. Maylin is too, except when someone comes to watch her, then all she can do is pretend she is a cat. Great video! They will love it when they are older.

  5. Adorable! Good job, Ro & Ree!

But how hard was it to stay in your seat when Ro started crying?!

Pi was in her ballet recital a couple of weeks ago. About midway thru the video, she does a pirouette and discovers the backdrop. She spends about 1/3 of the dance with her back to the audience taking in the scenery - literally! It's on my site if you want a laugh.

  6. Sweet Potato Pi: Oh my gosh it was SO HARD!!! I didn't know what to do. If the coach hadn't come right over you would have seen my butt on that video vaulting over some chairs and grabbing my baby. I'll have to check out your video, it sounds so funny.

  7. Just adorable!!!

I swear I have almost the same video (of just the one kiddo) from a few years ago. And I said the same thing - wow is it different when the camera isn't rolling. Take heart - it'll get better.

  8. BwwaaaHaHaHaHa! The Tongginator's ballet recital is next week. My goal is to avoid video-taping any and all nose-picking.

  10. That was way too cute! Alex had her first dance performance Saturday... she stood in her spot... yep, that about sums it up! Haha. She gets one more chance at their recital in two weeks... I posted some pics of her... but I stayed backstage, too afraid of tears to go out front and video:)Lol, this stuff is just too fun!

  13. They are so cute! :)

I got your comment a while back about the giveaway and tried to email you, but never heard back. Did you get my email?

  14. What are you talking about... I was thinking the whole time... Geez Tari can't do that!!! :)

We never seem to have much luck with "major events" and cameras - our camera stopped the second I touched Tari for the first time. We got one photo last weekend, at Tari's dedication (christening), coz the battery went flat... so I reckon your camera work is sterling!

  15. This is the funniest video I've seen in a while :) Reminds me of our son's first (and second and third) pre-school programs!

Go girls! Ro's tears just broke my heart. But they finished like champs.

    Happy Monday.

  16. Great job, ladies! Considering the audience crowd, they did a wonderful routine!

  17. Awe, they are still superstars to all us loyal fans out there. GREAT job mama on the video editing! LOVED it!!! Stephe

  18. Oh, that was so cute! And can I just say that your coach is AMAZING? She did so well! I LOVED that video. Sometimes the crowds are just too much....:-)

  19. Yeah, I know how you feel. I've been telling one of my friends about how active and brave Casey is and how she loves dogs and then we get to my friend's house and she is terrified of their two sweet calm little beagles and won't let me put her down.

Are the girls in different classes? Why did they perform separately? And why were you with Ree but not Ro? Just curious.

  20. That is TOO cute! How could you have NOT froze up with all those eye watching!?

  21. I really hope the become Olympic gymnasts. Then you could show this video on Good Morning America. Ah, they are so cute!

I just loved her feigning terminal klutziness on the balance beam and then executing a neat little turn to verify that you still had your hand for her to take--I actually replayed it to confirm that my eyes had actually seen that neat little turn. So sweet.

  26. I am cracking up over their gymnastic debut.

I showed my dad who reminded me of swim lessons. The day hte parents were there I refused to dive...nope ain't happening! I was 8. Yeah, I could dive all day long...just not when groups of people were watching!

Those tears broke my heart. I know they did yours.

  27. Well, you've made me feel much better about Kayli's last dance performance (or lack thereof) She did EVERYTHING during class, but on the grand finale day, I think the parents and cameras got to her, she turned into a puppy, then a clown, then cried a little, then stood with her hands in her mouth. Oh boy. Loved your video. So glad to hear you kept your sense of humor!

  28. That video was so cute. I was in China adopting my daughter the same time as you and my daughter is in gymnastics and loves it! I can't wait to take a video of her first show!
