I'm posting this for no good reason except that I think they're cute

That's it, really. We've been to Gilroy Gardens a million times. No one wants to hear about it again. But Ree and Ro just looked so cute in their little red coats on a rainy visit to the park that I had to share the pictures. So there you have it. Ree showed us her new skill of winking before we left for the park: DSC_5377m Ro couldn't wink, but she gave a funny smirky smile: DSC_5388m In the car on the way to Gilroy Gardens, the girls always ponder "Do you think that weird thing will be there?" Yep, Mr Garlic was there (That's what we call him, no idea what his real name is). Ree left, Ro right: 'The Good 'ole self timer. The camera was starting to get a little fogged up in the light rain. Ro left, Ree right: Good 'ole self timer :-) They have the neatest hot-air-balloon ride at GG. The only problem today was that the rain water hit the girls right in the eyes once that thing got really going. TubaDad had to shield their eyes in midflight. They always go on this ride without me (it makes me pukey) Ree knows I won't go on the spinning teacup ride for fear of "frowing up," so she said "It ok mama, you can go with me, I bring you a bucket." Bwah ha! When I flipped the video on and asked her what she just said, she wouldn't really repeat it. Oh well, at least I remember it: Little honeys had a blast with absolutely no lines. They kept looking around and saying "Dare no one here! We make it crowded!" Ree left, Ro right: We YUV Gilroy Gardens when it's empty Walking to the car (everyone was still awake and smiling, and a little bit soggy): Walking out with my girls A few seconds after the wheels started moving. This is how every good Gilroy Gardens trip ends. Ree left, Ro right: Every good Gilroy Gardens trip ends like this The rain was steady but very light the whole time we were there. It almost felt like we were walking under a pleasant misting machine. And there were absolutely no lines for rides—the girls got to go on every single ride in the park. It was crazy fun, and of course I got to see those cute little red coats darting around all day. Guess I should have come up with a creative title for this post like "Ode to Red Coats" or something like that. Heh. Next time.

I remember when you posted the link to those coats--and I lusted after them but resisted--then went back recently to see if they were clearing them out--but no luck-heh!

Just enjoy so watching Salsa Duo grow along with watching--albeit from long distance--my Jiangxi pearl also growing and changing daily. Thank God for nationwide long distance cell phone plans and blogs!! So I can speak with her daily and view her whenever I want!!

I am sure you have heard of these but they are so great when little ones get big enough to mingle with crowds of kids at play places. My grandson knows his phone number by heart, of course, but they make these lovely stickers you can put on the backs of hands with your cell phone number. When you are in a museum or play place with your kids and they kids run off to join friends or because they want to see something it is easy to momentarily lose sight of them. That must be even easier with two little sparklers at once who may bolt in opposite directions.
In that event you have your cell phone with you and it can make reconnecting in a crowd of kiddos much easier. You may never need that, but what a great thing to have just in case. I am not promoting a brand but they are easy to find with google.

  4. I'm a lurker and found you through another IA friend. I LOVE your blog! I am from San Jose - I assume you are close? I grew up in Saratoga burbs and love all the references I know. I drive up from LA often to my family and go right through Gilroy on the 101. You make me nostalgic!!!

  6. I love the red coats. So darling. And I must say it again - I love the drawers inbetween the seats. I will have to install one when we go on a trip next time, it might not be the easiest thing to have in when people are getting in and out of the very back on a daily basis, but I could see it working on a long trip! Brilliant idea.

Could i ask where you got the red coats and also their car seats ? They look so comfortable ( i like the way their little heads don't fall down while they are asleep. They are absolutely precious!!! They are growing so fast and changing everyday. They have the most amazing life now, i am so happy for all of you. I remember my daughter was waiting on her referral about the same time you were, seems like yesterday, doesn't it.

I have been thoroughly entertained following the adventures of the Twinadoes since your referral.

We FINALLY receieved our precious baby from China in December. I don't think I've ever posted, but I have to tell you that your HILARIOUS stories (I guess it's really the girls who get credit, but you relay it magically) got me through our LONG wait. THANK YOU!!!!

I really don't have a lot of free time to check out blogs and yours is only one of two I follow. I DID vote for your blog, btw.

Your photography, the laugh out loud things the girls do and your love of Chocolate and Salsa (I'm wishing I had a secret stash of chocolate in the house NOW!) can make me smile on the worst of days.

I'll pull my hubby over to the computer and say, "Look at what Ree and Ro did!" You seriously should write a book.......any ideas about that??? You're Crazyyyyyyyy talented!

    Joy and Chocolate to all!

  14. I'm with you on the spinning rides. I won't even attempt them anymore. Still I know that they have their buckets from their bouts with sickness and I'm so glad they're willing to share those precious buckets with you :)

Nothing says family like a shared barf bucket.

  15. Those coats are darling but not as darling as those two cuties of yours! There is nothing as sweet a sight as your children tuckered out and sleeping in the car seat after a fun filled day.
