Someone is turning 40 next week...
My awesome little bro, Bobby, is celebrating the big four oh next week, and the girls have been quite busy preparing his care package. I took them shopping at Long's drugstore (one of our favorite haunts), and let them go hog-wild picking out his presents. They were so cute running through the aisles grabbing one thing and then the other saying "Oooo, dis one, I know Uncle Bobby yike dis!"
Disclaimer for Bobby: I'm sure this will be apparent the second you open this box, but Ro and Ree insisted on doing everything themselves. They picked out the card and presents, selected the wrapping paper and brought it downstairs, then wrapped every single gift with oodles of love and much more determination than skill. They did good.
Happy birthday, Bobby! We love you and wish we could be there to give you (and Jane) huge birthday hugs in person. Now keep your eyes open for that box, and do NOT open it until your birthday.
In honor of your birthday, here is the girls' fave pic of you, and their fave video where you "go cwayzee" (their words) and simulate the teetertotter effect in the end.

Happy Happy Birthday Bobby.
ReplyDeleteYou aren't really going to be forty, your sister "lies". I'm not old enough for a forty year old.
love,
mom
cute pics :)
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to Bobby :)
Uncle Bobby is one lucky unlce:)
ReplyDeleteYou are such a GREAT mom as a lot of moms would not let there kids do this..I so admire you!!!
Happy Birthday Uncle Bobby (I still laugh when I think of the spinging ride thing in the living room:)
Well this is just the BEST idea. Let the twinados run amuck through Longs and throw whatever they want in the basket for Uncle Bobby. What a terrific tradition you are establishing for them and their favorite uncle. Now when they get older and start throwing $50 shirts in the basket.....
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pink and yellow nail polish. Bobby should appreciate that these gifts were wrapped with style!
ReplyDeleteHey, Uncle Bobby - we just loved your work in the G Force teeter totter inside video. Gets my little T everytime@
ReplyDeleteOh I should attach that video! It's the girls' fave. Will amend it to the post right now. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is so stinkin' hilarious! I love it. Uncle Bobby seems like a great guy and I love the end of that video. Oh man! That seriously had me laughing so hard!
ReplyDelete( I just asked my kid what he's doing in the bathroom. "I dunno" he said. That means I have to go now.)
Me again. Can I come live with you?? I'm down near Malibu - from the Bay Area. Just went to my high school reunion in San Jose! Love this video. What a great family and household you have. Seriously - have sleeping bag will travel!
ReplyDeleteOkay, LOVED that video!! Happy Birthday, Bobby!
ReplyDeleteI just love how you let the girls do so many things by themselves. There's nothing better for building their self-confidence. And what fun for Uncle Bobby to be able to see what Ro and Ree thought he would like for his birthday. Looks like great cutting technique with those scissors too:)
ReplyDeleteOMG, the G-force testing was friggin hilarious, I loved it. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!!! That video is so great!!! What a cool Uncle:)
ReplyDeleteI just love that video!!! It hilarious!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Bday Uncle Bobby!!! Your package looks very exciting!!! :)
Happy Birthday Bobby! I know you're so special to the girlies and a ton of fun. If the tetter totter experience is any indication of the fun I want to schedule my next trip to a time when you and Jane are there to share in the fun!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the big 4-0! It rocks!!
Happy birthday, Bobby. I see that your sister lied about your age, though. A mother never lies - and she can't possibly be old enough to have birthed a forty-year-old.
ReplyDeleteI have to say my sweet little Ben LOVES this video...he would watch it over and over again if he knew how to work the keyboard.
ReplyDeleteThe twins did so awesome. Wow do they have wrapping skills! Happy Birthday to your brother.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE Ro's purple shoes! So cute! They have the greatest footwear (and clothing).
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Uncle Bobby. You seem like a great uncle!
Thanks to Rose, Marie and my mangy sister for the b-day wishes!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the arrival of my package to celebrate my b-day in style.
-Uncle Bobby-
So very cool! and I'm sure Uncle Bobby will love every item in the box!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe girls did a bangup job of wrapping it and fitting it all in the box!
This is how you should do your Christmas shopping too. 4 year olds will know what everyone wants and needs! One stop shopping!
