Fashion Friday (and a couple of other things)

I'm up to my ears in laundry and big, unwieldy suitcases. Just barely got those suckers emptied out and now I'm refilling them again. Yep, yep, it's true, we've only been home a few days and we're already leaving again. This time on a roadtrip to San Luis Obispo. TubaDad has a gig there, so we talked my folks into taking a long weekend trip and we're all headed to the beachhouse after work today (it's not our beachhouse, we just rent it sometimes, but try telling the girls that...) I'm super excited because I found these neat carseat lapdesks that will be taking their maiden voyage today. I have them all loaded up with art supplies, travel bingo games, food, costume catalogs, and all manner of enticing things, so hopefully the time on the road will pass in a speedy (quiet) blur. I've mentioned before that the girls refuse to watch tv for more than a few minutes, haven't I? I'm just saying it again in case you're wondering why I go to all this trouble instead of just plugging in a blissful coma-inducing DVD for them and relaxing. Eh, could be worse. I'll give a full report on the desks after the trip. Promise. In the meantime, here's a quick snap of the girls testing them out (they had breakfast on the trays while we were parked in the garage yesterday). DSC_3818_1s Alrighty, now for what I meant to write about when I started typing this meandering post: Here are Ro and Ree in all their fashion glory. The outfits and accessories that they chose...well gosh, nothing I write will do them justice, so the pictures are just going to have to speak for themselves. 5. They are too cute. By the way, can you share where you got the lap desks. I have been looking for something like that will attach to Mylee's carseat.

It looks like since I am not the only one who is curious about them you may need to dedicate a post to the lap desks.

  6. Too cute!! I especially love the first photo of the two of them where Ro was pulling a funny face. :)

  7. LOL! Your girl's sense of fashion rocks!! Makes me want to start stocking up on all things bright and fun for the 3 yo wardrobe choices!! What fun!

The lap desks look great! Do they make them in adult size...with a pillow when needed and ummm....earplugs? :o)

Have a great trip!!! Have fun in the waves and I'd love to say I hope their isn't a repeat of last time's wave mishap but darn if I don't love that video and watch it over and over.

Enjoy and we'll catch ya when you get back!

  8. Hi guys, I definitely plan to do a full review of the laptop desks. After they've been rigorously twin-tested on this trip, and I know whether we like them or not and what needs to be improved (because there's always something!), I'll write up a post with all the specifics.

  9. Heh, heh. Always love the fashionista training camp photos. You mentioned a while back that sometimes the girls dress themselves and sometimes you choose the outfits. Do R'n'R ever make a fuss when they can't choose themselves?

  11. I love the laptop desks!! I didn't know they had some for the "toddler" carseats. You know, I've never been at San Luis Obispo. I didn't know there was a beach! I might have to tell Daddy to take us since Emma loves the cold beach.

  12. I can't wait to hear your report on the lapdesks.....I could use one for Sarah and if the twins give them the double thumbs up, that is enough to sell me:)

They look adorable....I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, their fashion choices this week!!

Hope you have fun at the beach.....and Happy Labor Day!

  13. We have that lapdesk too! We haven't gone anywhere far since we've had it though.

Casey won't watch TV either. Sometimes I'm glad, sometimes not.

  14. Have a great trip and I hope the lap desks make the trip fun for the girls and quiet for the adults.

  15. Your girls are *rockin* those outfits. If only adults could dress like that and look so cute!

  17. I'll be interested in the desk review too.

Of course you need to wear your rain boots in the house while you are pushing your baby stroller!

Their fashion Fridays are always so much fun. I hope they want to continue to do this for a long time to come.

Do you eat at the Apple Farm? Right on the Monterey exit off 101. Best place for miles and the BEST gift shop. Try their baked apple with cinnamon sauce and whipped cream....

  19. I'll be interested to hear your evaluation of the lap desks... as alas, my 2 year old has virtually no interest in tv, movies or the like. We've done many a road trip, and while she does do pretty good, we've had to have a LARGE bag (or rather 2!) of tricks.
