Sunny and gorgeous at Avila Beach

Love this place, just love it. So do the girls. Here's what we've been up to so far:

The ride here was blissfully uneventful (for more info on the lapdesks, see our product review):

We had dinner at one of our all-time fave restaurants, McLintock's. The grownups love the onion rings and the steak, the kiddos love the special way they refill your water glass:

After dinner, we drove down to the beach for a little nighttime fun. Ro and Ree's conversation in the dark car on the way there was cracking me up:

My mom and I apparently have matching white fleece jackets (news to us!):

The girls thought it was hilarious to bury their feet and then wonder where they were. Over and over.

After breakfast the next day, we loaded up the wagon and headed to the beach. I love Ree's little skip on the way:

Man these kids like sand:

And water. They really like water...:

And kites too:

Shoot, they pretty much like everything about the beach. Every dang thing.

  14. Ha! We used to fill the toddler's water cups during snack in Sunday School that way. We called it "water-head" and the kids knew to hold their cup (Dixie-type) on their head.

    Enjoy a relaxing time!

  17. Looks like everyone is having a great time. Love the way your parents are so involved in the girls daily lives.

That first picture cracked me up, because that is what our van looks like when we go away overnight. We have completely given up the back seat. It is always folded down. The embarrassing part is that we have only one child (at home). :)

  18. Hahahaha.......I was wondering where Wela and BobBob were. Thought maybe there was a trailer (oops I mean a 5th wheel) behind and they were in there.

I can just see it now, road trips when Ro and Ree are in 3rd grade. Each will have their own real laptop researching away. The back of the car will be filled with the science projects in-the-making.

On these trips to your "beach house", they'll do a project on how long it takes cheese to mildew on the beach in the sun, versus in the car in the sun. Kidding.....

I can just see it now, and TubaDad is saying "Oh no....."

    Blessings,
    Gail
