Pssst, wanna sneak a peek at our family photos?

One of my absolute fave photographers, Erin Cobb, was in California last weekend, and we were luckyluckylucky that all of our schedules lined up and we could steal her away from her family reunion to take some pics of our family. What a treat! IMG_0651LR She posted a little sneak peek here, if you'd like to read what she wrote. I think I might have squealed with glee when I looked at them. Well, actually I know I did. Anyhooooo, we're going to have some serious trouble narrowing down which ones to print, because we love them all so far and this is only a fraction of what she took. Woohoo! Ro is in the silver dress/jean jacket and Ree is in the tan top/purple shrug. huntsville-newborn-photographer-1 huntsville-family-photographer2 huntsville-baby-photographer3 huntsville-child-photographer2 huntsville-newborn-photographer4 huntsville-childrens-photographer2 Ro and Ree loved Erin. And they thought she was hilarious. They wish she would come play with them every day, but in the meantime they're happy just to pretend to be her. Today Ree told Ro to sit on the couch, then held up her toy cell phone/camera and started clicking away saying "Hi, I is Erin, and we is going to have a lot of fun and I is going to take a lot of pictures of you. Now what's your name? Oh. Hello Ro! Can you sit right there? Ok. Can you say bananas? Heehee. Ok..."

Hi. Just curious does Ree ever sit on your lap for family photos. And Ro with her father? Thanks!

  20. I clicked on the link and those pictures are totally stunning. I love the cute little braids in their hair. Those pictures are real treasures, just like your girls.

  21. They are awesome portraits! I assume the picture of the girls running with the trees behind them is now poster-sized and has been painted onto your car? Priceless!

Oh my! Wow, wow, wow!!! These are awesome!!!

They are all fantastic, and your family portrait is GREAT.

I love more candid type shots, so my absolute favorite is the one where they are sitting on that little platform and Ree is looking at Ro laughing. It is so sweet!!! I can't take it! They are killing me with cuteness!

    I want to photograph them!!!

  23. Thanks guys!! We just loved the pics and had so much fun with Erin.

    For the questions:

Sharron: I'm probably going to get swatted by the doctor, but I switched Ree back to the steroid ointment yesterday morning, and it's actually looking better again today. I tried to get a pic but something is wrong with my macro lens (or, more likely, something is wrong with the macro-lens user... heh heh). Anyhow, she's still on the oral antibiotics, and I still have the followup scheduled with the dr, so we'll see.

Mexican chopsticks: I follow Erin's personal blog (the pigBear) and she posted a notice awhile back that she was traveling out to CA and could take a few sessions. TubaDad happened to be in town the same day she was open, so I signed us up! So lucky!

Anon at 8:48: Oh sure! It's just random, we never plan out who sits where, and the girls are always on the move, so we just grab whoever's running the closest and plop down. In the pics right before this, Ree happened to be closest to me so I grabbed her and TubaDad grabbed Ro.

IndianaLori: "Painted on the car" -- Hee!!! Love that. And hmmm, that blue minivan does look a little drab and plain today...

  32. Okay, it's usually all about the girls, but M3 I just have to say you look so beautiful in that photo! Did you do your bangs different? Love that you all wore some purple!

  33. Full confession...I am a long time lurker of two blogs, and two blogs only. Yours and Erin Cobb's! I couldn't let this coincidence go unmentioned. So, now I am officially leaving a comment for the first time...even though I have been following you for a LONG time...since you were in China and I was [im]patiently waiting to travel there myself. I am the proud mother of an 4 1/2 year old daughter from Kunming.

I am SOOO envious that Ro and Ree got to be subjects for Erin's amazing work. The photos are exquisite! Lucky, lucky you. Some day....

I am not a blogger, but do use FB, if you are interested in connecting with another fan and/or taking a peek at Abby, my own spirited bundle of joy.

Thanks for sharing your humor and your beautiful girls.
