I am totally keeping these sketches in case they become famous fashion designers one day
Over breakfast this morning, I casually mentioned to my mom that the girls needed new summer nightgowns and asked her to keep her eyes open for some. I was just about to take a bite of oatmeal when Ree shouted "I know, Wela, you could just make some!" Heh.
The girls plumb forgot about breakfast and started rattling off wild clashing color combos and intricate designs that made our heads spin. Oh my... I figured we might as well make an art project out of it and drew some outlines and asked them to color what they really wanted.
Ro is thrilled that she'll soon be wearing these lovely ensembles:
Ree is beside herself with excitement that these two beauties will soon show up:
And I am dying to see what my mom comes up with on this project.

Heh! No pressure Wela! ;O)
ReplyDeletehey, totally unrelated- i remember seeing a photo of your car and the kids have like organizers next to them to hold stuff- where did you get them? i can't find the photo on your blog. thanks! leah
ReplyDeleteHey Leah, we did a writeup on the girls' blue lapdesks here. And at that same link you can also see the 3 drawer organizers we have between the car seats. I got the 3 drawers at Target and we screwed them together, then secured them to the floorboards with bungee cords. Then we added self-stick velcro to each drawer to keep them closed. It was kind of a pain to do all of that, but we use the drawers every single day, so worth it I guess.
ReplyDeleteHilarious!!! Man, Wela. Quite a task indeedy.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see them!
ReplyDeleteHaha... good luck Wela.... can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteM3,
ReplyDeleteYour girls are just PRICELESS!!! I love it!! Can't wait for the finished product!!
I knew I was in trouble when they asked for drawing paper. My second mistake was to let their mother grab the sketches:)I did get a pattern tonight.

Wow!! That is some talent! Have the girls shown any interest in sewing? I sew all the time, and my niece (4 years old) is crazy about it. She tells me she can make it run. haha.
ReplyDeletei just logged on here to tell you about some new pjs we got and i thought your girls would love them...and then i saw this post! not sure they will live up to these fashion nightgowns...but carter's has some dr scrubs in their boys section (at kohl's and penney's). i got some for my son and he immediately put them on at home and i realized as my daughter was running around trying to make up her own mock dr outfit, that i need to head back out and get her a pair as well. just thought i'd pass that find along!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Can't wait to see!!
ReplyDeleteThese are actually quite cute, especially the red, blue, and brown one! Wela better watch out or she will be getting orders in from around the world! I think Wela's Wearable Art should be the name of her clothing line!
ReplyDeleteOhhh! Can't wait to see the masterpieces!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! These will be treasured forever, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteYou're right M3 - there has to be some sort of fashion career in their future. I love these sketches.
ReplyDelete:)
I expect, when Wela completes her project, to view a fashion show video, complete with fierce struts, rather than *just* photos.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree....fashion show video is a must, and we haven't heard from you in a week! No Fashion Friday at least?! : )
ReplyDeleteI'm just catching up on the past three weeks of blog posts and as always, great to see all the fun happenings, outfits and projects happening in the Salsa home.
ReplyDeleteAny plans to make it to SLC this July? Of course would love to see all of you.
