Let’s get this party started!!!

I just wrote the LAST check to a contractor, waved goodbye, and locked the front door. AND IT FEELS SO GOOD! Ro and Ree and I started the party immediately. After almost three months of fixing up and staging our old house, holding open houses, and welcoming daily hordes of contractors into our new house, we are finally COMPLETELY ALONE in our house. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Can’t even tell you how happy we are to be over this (totally self-inflicted) torture.

There was fist pumping, screaming, and dancing. I cracked open a bottle of red wine, the girls threw some popcorn in the microwave, and we ransacked the pantry to find chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, teddy grahams, and a huge box of wafer cookies.

Wooooohooooooooooo!!

When TubaDad gets home tonight we’re going to move our beds into our brand-spanking-new bedrooms and party some more. And tomorrow is a pajama day. Seriously, THE ENTIRE DAY, and we can’t wait. I am so damn excited not to have to get up and shower at the crack of dawn and then open the door to our small army of contractors that I can barely stand it. If anyone wants to come over, please wear your pajamas and bring chocolate.

(Pictures coming later... Right now, the red wine, chocolates, and two ecstatic little girls are screaming my name.)

  1. WoooHooo! I can only imagine the joy ringing through the house. I envisioned the Tom Cruise slide from Risky Business happened after you closed that door or something very similar:-)

I can TOTALLY relate! There have been times when I've just wanted to cry and beg, "Can I PLEASE just have my house back?" when we've had renovations done. Ok, and a couple of times when company out stayed their welcome. Glad your house is ALL yours now.

  10. Congratulations!! That day is just the best day ever. After putting in the 1000 feet of wood floors this summer (and escaping to my parents home with the girls to get away from the noise and mess), I can feel your relief!

It's a PJ day here too! Can't wait to see pictures!
