They don’t come any prettier than this

Couldn’t have asked for a prettier summer, oops make that spring, wait make that winter day. Wow. The girls got off school and we lazed around in the backyard soaking up the blue sky and all that sunshine. It had been such a crazy-busy week that I think we were all just happy to make it to Friday and finally sit around not doing much of anything.

Ro painted, I lay on my towel (yes quite taxing) and played around with my fun fisheye lens, Ree watered the flowers (well it was more her feet, but the flowers were the intended targets), then we all ate gingersnaps and the girls played Connect Four.

Now we’re just waiting for TubaDad to come home and take us out for our Fun Friday dinner, the cherry on top of this perfect day.

PS: Our Hostess/BlogHer $100 Visa giftcard giveaway is still open, if you haven’t entered yet check out the entry form.

  2. Man--I wish I was at your house! I'm trying to recover from a week of standardized testing, near race-riots in the 6th grade, and a couple of suicide assessments...Please let summer get here soon!!!

Mmmmmmmm! Gingersnaps! Have you ever had molasses cookies? Similar - perhaps a little snappier/spicier than gingersnaps.

    1. No, we might need to try those! These ones are gingersnaps from the local health store and we call them "blow-your-head-off ginger cookies." Makes us laugh every time. I'm surprised the girls like them, I really bought them for *ME*.

  5. That does sound perfect...especially the part where you got to lay down! We have so many versions of Connect Four here, but the new fav is Connect Four Launchers. It's really fun! I hope you enjoyed dinner just as much!

Send some of that delicious sunny weather north.

Is it the fish-eye lens or do you have a huge backyard?

How is your kitchen remodel coming along?

    1. I think it's just the lens. Not sure though, it's all relative I guess. This yard is way bigger than our last one.

The kitchen remodel is getting scarily close to the demo stage. We're just waiting on finished cabinets (should be 2 more weeks) and then everyone can start. I need to make sure I take lots of "before" pictures.

Isn't the weather around here amazing these days?

Today we spent the day at Coyote Point Recreation Area up in San Mateo--a gorgeous day all around!
