Apparently this will not come as a surprise to one single person, but we’re foster failures on our first try.
This little guy isn’t going anywhere, he’s already home.
The girls have named him Dusty, and he’s been very busy (between naps) getting familiar with the yard, the neighborhood kids, and all the best sunny spots in the house.
He’s just a love, and thinks every person and dog he meets is a friend.
After all that hard wagon work, Dusty needed another nap:
It’s so tiring keeping up with four people:
PS: We’re calling him a TeriPomeHuahua. It makes us smile.
Hahaha! I'm not surprised one bit. He sure is cute.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Not surprised in the least. He is adorable. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly why I'm not allowed to foster or volunteer at the SPCA - we have three cats (and twin toddlers!), and my husband says I can't bring in anything else that poops - and he knows I'm a soft touch! Congratulations on your new addition - he's precious!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessed dog and family! So glad you are all together. He looks very secure!
ReplyDeleteWahahaa, congratulations!! He looks adorable; won't show your post to my kids - they'll want one just like Dusty! Regards from the Netherlands, Anne
ReplyDeleteSo excited!!
ReplyDeleteDo you happen to know the circumstances that lead to him being at the shelter? He sounds like the perfect dog!
Krista
Nothing better than a failed fosterer!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home Dusty :)
totally not surprised! love it!!!!
ReplyDelete;) Prince Dusty. Love it. and he's perfect.
ReplyDeleteWell that little guy is a keeper, for sure! So glad y'all just got that decision out of the way :)
ReplyDeleteYay for once-foster-puppies-now-forever-puppies!
You have moved to a new height in my eyes, knowing you are a rescuer :)
ReplyDeleteDitto!!! Failed Fosters are Love Winners. Nothing better than a rescue furbaby. Seriously, nothing better. It is a passion of mine.
DeleteYay!!! He's SO cute. Love the pic of the girls taking him for a ride in the wagon. He looks SO at home in your house. I'm so glad you rescued him (I have 3 rescue dogs, all smaller dogs). :-)
ReplyDeleteMolly
Yeah! Awesome! Lucky dog, lucky kids, lucky everbody!
ReplyDeleteYay! Pretty much as soon as I read your first post about this adorable doggie I knew he couldn't possibly leave your home! He is a beautiful Salsa Family addition! Welcome Home Dusty!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job M3 and TubaDad!
So funny...I didn't think there was a chance in the world he was going anywhere after that first post! Darn if he isn't adorable! What a fun addition to your family :-)
ReplyDeleteThat makes me smile! Congratulations to the Dusty/Salsa family, from Phoenix, I enjoy your blog so much!!!
ReplyDeleteYippppeeee!! I've been hopeful for this post! Welcome to Dusty! He sounds like a gem. What a beautiful dog and companion for the family. I am so glad he is with you all to stay!! Enjoy all the love!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home Dusty! You're a sweetie for sure!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you gave him a name and over time I bet he gets a lot of nicknames! You are not a foster failure in your doggie's heart. You are his forever family. It's the term we use when we place a rescued Corgi and it is so fitting for all of you.
ReplyDeleteYep. He belongs there. Congratulations!
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteIf this is what being a failure is.....yeah for failures! The picture of him in the wagon is priceless! Congrats....dogs have a way of "picking" out their owners & I know Dusty made the perfect choice.
ReplyDeleteThat is how they get you...they are all cute and cuddly. Smart poochies!
ReplyDeleteAnd GREAT name choice says the Mom to furbaby Dusty.
Keep smilin!

Welcome home Dusty! Nope, not surprised. Our whole family (including our 3 year old) called it day 1. Ha!

ReplyDeleteERIKA
Congrats there is nothing like a childhood (or any stage really) with a dog. So so so happy you rescued an older dog. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome. I love a foster failure story. You are a really cool mom!
