See, they don’t look alike at all, do they?

SchoolPicSpring_Ree-2_LRSchoolPicSpring_Ro-2_LR

There’s just something about school pictures (these are the end-of-school spring ones) that captures the uniqueness I see everyday.

Here are their fall pics from the beginning of the school year, by the way:

Nine more days until summer vacation!

    1. No, really?!! That is so funny. Seriously I look at those pictures and wouldn't even be surprised if someone asked if they were maybe cousins or just friends who had dressed alike one day. Oh, should I mention then that Ree is on the left for both sets?

And I thought for sure it was Ro. Go figure!

Left as in viewing them? So Ree is in pink and with the water scene background?

Posed like that I do see more differences than I do in many of the candid pictures you post (but probably literally b/c they were posed and not sort of caught mid-doing something and then posed, if that makes sense)

I feel like it's one of those magazine "how many differences can you spot" things in this case because the poses are so similar compared to the typical pictures you post - which is probably helping me see more differences (now I just need to remember which is which and hopefully apply that to regular pictures).

I think what surprised me most was that in the fall pictures Ro (right, if I'm understanding you meaning left being Ree then in pink) having hair that was quite a bit longer. Some of the differences I could see missing in regular pictures, if their faces were turned even a bit, or they were doing less posed smiles.

Somehow the two sets of pictures on top of one another like that are helpful in finding differences! Now I'm curious if I can get it "right" in future pictures! Ha!

Personality/temperment wise are they similar? Or no?

We have new baby twins in my family, but they are fraternal and their colouring is SO different they hardly look like brothers let alone twins! I'm curious to see if that'll change down the road as they get older.

    4. Yes, Ree with water background and in the pink. One really easy physical difference is Ro's left cheek dimple, you can see that one for sure in most photos.

Radically different personalities, and have been radically different since they were babies. Actually the very first referral pics we got of them showed their personalities. Funny. It was interesting, we were packing tonight for Tahoe and Ro carefully put each outfit together then rolled it into a precise bundle before placing it carefully in her side of the suitcase. Ree, by contrast, grabbed all of her clothes and stuffed the entire pile haphazardly into the suitcase at one time saying "Why do people fold or roll things before putting them in a suitcase, I just don't understand!" Ro just shook her head. So typical of them!

  2. They DO look more different! I would almost just guess them as sisters instead of twins. Their eyes and mouths are so different now. They are just so precious.

  3. I can tell the difference if I study their eyebrows for a minute. Otherwise, no idea.

  4. Yup, they really do look different! But - I still mixed up who was who. OYE!!! Will I ever get it right? *sigh!*

    Beautiful pictures of your girls!

    1. Funny! Oh well, the bracelets will be totally visible when you visit in July and it'll be easy peasy to tell them apart. Well except for maybe in the pool -- you might be a little challenged with the wet hair, hidden arms, and incredibly fast-moving kiddos.

  5. Lovely pictures of two lovely girls - and I love the backgrounds. So much nicer than a plaincoloured cloudy background. I could not tell them apart though - the dimple is a good reminder though. If you look back at old pictures, do you know immediately who's who too?

After reading your blog for several years, there was a day a while back when I realized that I could tell them apart! Was never quite sure if that was because they were changing to look more different, for if I had just seen so many pictures that the differences that had always been there were standing out to me more. I would agree with you though- they don't really even look like twins in these pictures!

  7. I can definitely see the differences, just not good with matching which kiddo is which.

My mom's best friend had identical twins a couple of years younger than me, I never could figure out why people couldn't tell them apart, they looked so different to me (since I saw them all the time!). :)

  8. I can tell the difference, have been able to for a while now. They have differently shaped faces and eyes, and they make such different facial expressions. Ree often has a little twinkle of mischief in her eyes and Ro often looks like she is plotting something secretive. Lovely girls.

  9. LOL, nope still can not tell them apart. But I will have to say that they are the cutest ever.
