The aftermath
Wow, what a day. I'm still giddy and can't put these feelings into words. I can, however, answer this question: What happens to your house if you get a hoped-for but unexpected referral for twins and you spend the entire day celebrating? Answer: It looks like this (insert horror movie music here):
Looks like a bomb went off in there, doesn't it? We've got leftover bags and supplies from the park (guess we never got around to putting it away yesterday), pans full of delectable rib drippings (courtesy of Johnny), champagne glasses with a little Dom residue inside, dinner plates and food (!) from last night that I guess we just plumb forgot was sitting on the counter, countless scribbled notes and pens, tripods for the CNN-like videotaping of "the call," buttons for the little cousins with the girls' faces on them, and I don't even know what else. I woke up this morning, went downstairs, and actually gasped out loud. I didn't even know where to start. So I just backed away slowly and am now hiding in the office pretending I never saw it.
The FedEx package with more details and pictures of Ro and Ree should be getting here soon, so stay tuned for even more twinny deliciousness. And thank you for every single funny, poignant, or loving comment and email. Wow. We don't even know what to say. The support is just incredible and made our day a hundred times more special. It's like we were in labor with 500 dear friends packed into the delivery room cheering for us.
