Two years ago today, we held our daughters for the first time
Happy family day to Ro and Ree, our fiesty, joyful, funny, exuberant, inquisitive, beautiful daughters. We have been so privileged to spend the last two years with these little dynamos. They make us smile like crazy and drive us even crazier. We can't wait to see what they'll do next. Wait -- actually this morning they decided to pee in the doll potty, then tried to sneakily pour it into the toilet and missed completely, dousing the bathroom, their feet, and everything else within a 3-foot radius. So maybe I should rephrase that -- we can't wait to see they'll do next but sure hope it doesn't involve either black eyes or pee. Okay then.
To celebrate the day we became a family of four, here's a slideshow of monthly pictures, including the absolutely precious ones we got of the girls' first year. TubaDad (the official mailer of the family) will be sending two books of these pictures to Daye, China -- one for the orphanage staff and one for the foster family who watched over the girls and held them until we could. We want everyone who helped the girls in their first year to know how they're doing. Also, to be completely honest, our secret whispered hope is that somehow someway some part of the information will also find its way to Da Shuang and Xiao Shuang's birthparents so they can know that the girls are safe, healthy, happy and loved so very much. I know, it's a total longshot and will probably never happen, but you never know if someone who sees the pictures knows someone who knows someone who knows someone... Anyhow, here they are, our fierce little twinados, from birth to now:
Happy family day Ro and Ree. It seems like just yesterday that we were in China holding you for the first time. You are growing and changing before our very eyes. You are our hearts.
