Dang, this Easter thing sure is fun

The girls have been reveling in the Easter carnage scattered around the house, and every day this week have asked "It still Easter, mama?" They're in for a serious letdown tomorrow when the answer is finally "nope!" Yikes. And the next cool kid holiday isn't until July, is it? We had a small Easter egg hunt at our house yesterday, dyed I-don't-even-know-how-many dozen eggs, woke up extra early to rifle through filled-to-bursting Easter baskets (double squeal), then took the family out for a fancy brunch this morning. Fun stuff. Really fun. I took way too many pictures, as usual. They're mostly snapshots -- pics taken while walking around, chatting and laughing, eating Apricot Dream Bars, and clicking away while holding the camera down by my hip. (View thumbnails, captioned pics, or slideshow, click "show info" for slideshow captions) After brunch (and after Ro and Ree finished grilling the Easter bunny about why he doesn't have a mouth), the girls and I went for a walk so everyone else could finish chowing. They were so cute hopping around like bunnies and twirling around in their spinny skirts in the bright sunshine: Happy Easter!

  1. It sounds - and looks - like the girls had a fantastic Easter! I love their fancy skirts. What else can a girl do BUT twirl?

We had a similar "hair cutting incident" several weeks ago. Pi and I were just sitting on the floor, drawing and cutting up paper. All of a sudden I saw several long black...hairs? What the...? Five days later she fessed up that she just wanted to see what would happen if she cut her hair. Sigh.

    Enjoy your chocolate!

  7. Looks like you had great fun. Sorry about the hair cutting incident, hopefully it's easily hidden and the last time something like that happens.

  9. Well, actually, in the liturgical church calendar, Easter lasts for 50 days, until Pentecost.

  11. These photos are SO fun! I've really enjoyed watching your little ones grow up, I can't believe how much they've changed in just the last two years. They sure do know how to have a good time... and lead you on a merry chase as well. :-)
