That last day was kind of a doozy

One of our mamas was hit with the stomach flu last night, one mama felt like she was going downhill all day, poor Maisie had the full-blown stomach flu late this afternoon and poor Ree felt like crap when she woke up and laid around all day expecting to throw up any minute. It wasn’t pretty.

We’re supposed to get on a plane to fly home tomorrow morning. Yikes. Flying by myself with two pukers (or pukey myself) is just not an attractive option, so if things look rocky in the morning, I have no problem paying whatever money is necessary to change those flights and camp out in a hotel until we’re all one-hundred percent.

The girls pretty much stayed in bed all day playing with the iPad (I have used the heck out of that marvelous machine on this trip, wow). Ree ate a few bites of dry cereal, drank some water, and had a bite of peanut butter. But as the evening wore on she was feeling a little better and a little better. By around 7pm, she said she wanted to go for a walk, so I grabbed some bags (hey you’ve got to be prepared for anything) and we headed up the nearby road (which is so green and lush). She even perked up enough to find a few pretty spots to sit or stand and say “Will you take a peeshur please, mama?!” IMG_2254LR IMG_2257LR IMG_2252LR IMG_2261LR

Sweet girl. We came back to the house to grab jackets and asked if Lauren wanted to come with us on the next part of the walk, and she did! We all walked really slow, stopped at every bench, stairway, or pretty flower, and made it all the way to downtown. It was fun.IMG_2263LR IMG_2266LR

I swear, Lauren is so cute she sparkles.

If you think of it, would you say a good thought or a prayer that everyone in our party is feeling fine tomorrow?

  3. Don't you dare rent a hotel if you aren't able to make it home. Seriously! I'm saying a little prayer that everyone will make it home without trouble.

  5. I hope everybody is feeling good this morning, and that you will all make it home uneventfully.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you wrote that Lauren is so cute that she sparkles. Looks like you were surrounded by a lot of cuteness the last couple of days.

  7. We missed you like crazy last night, but I couldn't have imagined the 3 hour ride through the canyon traffic with pukey kiddoes. I can't believe Lisa and Catherine were in such high spirits when they finally made it!

I'm hoping that the fact that the girls were up for a walk last night that you will make your flight all healthy!

We'll catch up next time ;)

  12. Not to brag, but MAN I live in a pretty place, :) We missed you all so much. We especially felt bad that it was for such a rotten reason. I hope you are all well and that the flight went okay. It was good to talk to you. We just wish we could have seen you! I hope the girls enjoyed some of the treats from the Pinata.

  13. Hope the flu passes over soon! My Aunt Donna was there too and she got sick.

Lauren definitely shines (she's my cousin, so I'm a little biased in saying she's the cutest little girl in the world ;D) and so do all the others there!
