A visit from friends wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the beach. So we loaded up the van with sunscreen, sand toys, and towels (and apparently not enough extra dry clothes – are there ever enough extra clothes?) and headed for Santa Cruz where we met up with Kayce and the Cricket.
I tried to get Ro and Ree to wear appropriate beach attire -- you know, like a t-shirt and a pair of shorts -- and it SO didn’t happen. Whatever...
The four kiddos were adorable together, intently moving sand from one place to another, sharing PBJs/veggie chips/seaweed snacks, taunting the waves, and rolling in the sand. I’d wager that we’ll all be finding sand in surprising places for the next week:
I love this pic of the two littles together. L.O.V.E.:
The three big girls had a fab time too. There’s hardly anything better than hanging at the beach with good friends, whether you’re four or forty-something:
Cheers!
Amen to that.
ReplyDeleteI have to ask-- you got the lands end 2 piece---how do the bottoms fit? I saw lots of negative reviews... But they are on sale and would love to stock up if they fit ok:)
ReplyDeleteHey Emily, that's funny I didn't even read the reviews, but I don't love them at all. The bottoms are cut way too narrow in my opinion (they show too much in the front and the back). We've had the LE swimsuits in year's past and loved them, but I would go with a different bottom this year if available.
ReplyDeleteYOu are not kidding..... there is nothing like the beach no matter what your age!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a FABULOUS trip!! The pictures are so telling of all the fun you had.....and I too love that shot of Kayce and Catherine with the two little ones in the middle. TOTAL CUTENESS!!
xoxo,
Lisa
You review is just like every one else's--we have the one piece--- love, and the skirts and shorts bottoms, the shorts run a bit big. We love LE suits, and based on all the neg reviews on their bottoms, I bet they'll change em:). Thanks!!!!
ReplyDeleteEmily -- You've inspired me, I'm going to go leave a review right now. I hope they do change the cut for next season because I am a longtime fan of LE.
ReplyDeleteIt truly was an amazing day that flew by all too quickly! Good friends + sun + beach = perfect day!! You got SO many beautiful shots! I need to take more 'stand back and capture then whole picture' moments.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, yesterday as I undid Hannah's sippy cup at the Buffalo airport I giggled (ok, and teared up a little too that we're once again so far away from one another) when the ring of her sippy cup was filled with Santa Cruz sand!
We love you and miss you already! Losing track of the number of times I'm hearing, 'Where Wo and Wee?'
Thank you for another amazing trip friend! Until next year.....
so envious - I'm on the other side of the world and it's snowy, windy and cold here right now. Can you send some sunshine and warmth please?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, just beautiful! xo
ReplyDeleteSo SUPER cool that you all got to meet up!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun! I love the picture with your girls arms around each other. It looks like a squeeze full of love.
ReplyDeletewhat a happy time you have had, and a quite little girls, o I love this pictures !

ReplyDeletenothing like taking the kiddo to the beach and watching her go nuts...it's one of favorite pleasures of the summer. of course, during every visit she gets a little sand in her eye and then it's about an hour's worth of soothing and coddling and occasionally, if those two things don't work, i pretend to be very angry at the sand and stomp on it to *show it who's boss* which makes my daughter laugh. clearly, i need to work on my parenting skills.
ReplyDeleteNow who would have foreseen your girls being the "big girls"? Hehe!!
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of Land's End too. I have never tried the bathing suits for girls, though.
LOVE their canvas bags, though!
what a fabulous time for all of you!
