Cookies for breakfast (for everyone)

Ro decided to make cookies last night while Ree was playing with her baby dolls, so we pulled out our sugar cookie recipe and she went to town. Later (as expected) Ree saw the sprinkle fun and begged to get in on things.DSC_9694LRsDSC_9706LRsDSC_9707LRsDSC_9681LRs

Little peeps did a good job, and everyone (even Chippey, apparently) enjoyed cookies for breakfast this morn.DSC_9729LRs

PS: Another Elf on the Shelf question for you: Does your elf’s hat stay on?! That stinking hat gives me fits. Ours falls off if you even look at Chippey wrong and then it gets lost. I’m thinking of hot glueing it on, but would his thin plastic face melt or bend under the hot glue? Are we the only ones with elfin-hat hate?

  4. Mmmm...cookies! Nothing better than princesses in the kitchen. So far Bobble Chippey's hat stays on. If it begins to fall off I'll be checking with you to see what worked.

  5. Just don't look at him wrong. There, problem solved !

  6. a dot of hot glue shouldn't harm him, just don't hold the gun to his head. :)

  8. ours has never come off. But if it did, craft glue or hot glue would be the order of the day here.

E-6000 Industrial Strength Self-leveling adhesive is my "glue of choice" ever since I learned about it years ago. I don't think I've used my hot glue gun since. It comes in a tube(no mixing)and works on most every surface. I would not let young kids use it, but I sure like it. It is available at JoAnn's Fabric as well as other stores.

  10. So far ours stay on. Emma still doesn't want to touch him, she really believes in the story. I use fabric glue, it is expensive (at least for me) but it works just like the hot glue but without the hot. You can find it at Michaels or JoAnne's. I can't remember the last time I used the hot glue gun. The name is Fabric-Tac (Beacon Adhesive) and there are two sizes, I get the 8fl.oz. Emma just left her elf some paper and a pencil. She wants to know how old he is? She never makes things easy for me.

For elf's hat, try self-adhering velcro. (thin strips)

  12. I don`t think hot glue wold melt his face if you applied it to the hat. OTOH it wold be tragic if it did soooo.

I would try a good craft glue like Tacky Glue.

I mean the velcro with sticky backing . . .

  14. I glued out hat on. I put the hot glue on the hat first and then pressed it onto the head. It cooled a bit between. Worked fine.

Hey, I had a cookie for breakfast.

  15. I don't think he likes the hat. How about a beret?

  16. Our elf's hat never comes off... sorry! Our elf also really behaves herself, how boring! I'm thinking we need to spice up her life a bit!

  17. Hey, I thought of you when I saw my friend's elf had gone fishing in a bowl of goldfish...there's a cute idea for little Chippey (if you haven't tried that one already...or if you thought your little sweeties would get a kick out of that one!)

  18. I tried to take our elf's hat off and it's on there so well that it wouldn't budge.

    Use Tacky Glue.
