I like to flip through recent cell phone pics and remember what we’ve been doing lately.
L: We were thrilled that D1’s travel schedule meant we got to spend the evening with him! R: Walked into Barnes & Noble and found a children’s concert going on. Bonus! We couldn’t drag Ro away, she watched the whole thing. Her sister flitted back and forth between the Rainbow Magic books and the concert:
L + R: Casually said they could have a "fun bath" if they cleaned up their disaster of a room. Have never seen them move so fast. (Ree left):
L: The girls make themselves instant oatmeal for breakfast Every Single Day. You’d think they’d get tired of it?! Ro prefers Peaches and Cream, and Ree prefers Bananas and Cream. R: Ro can make a dessert last longer than anyone in the world. If there was an Olympic competition for slowest dessert eater she would take the gold. (It drives her sister CRAZY.)
L: Amusing ourselves by taking an unsuccessful family portrait in the mirror. Hm, will have to work on that angle. R: Just went in some new (to us) store called Justice and they screamed and said "Justice we LOVE you!!!" OMG. Why is everything so insanely expensive in here?!
L: Washing machine gave up the ghost and while we were waiting for repair the dirty laundry in the garage reached what TubaDad called "world record amounts." Ugh. Will never catch up... R: Speaking of TubaDad, here’s how he spends a lot of his time:
L + R: Little bro Bobby was in town for one evening and we had a ball with him. The girls taught him how to play Sleeping Queens:
The girls sure do love their electronic Cookie dogs that they got for Christmas (Ro on the right in both pics). They carry them everywhere. L in WelaWear, and R in St. Patrick’s Day garb:
L + R: Some of the colors we’re using in our kitchen reno. Dark wood cabinets, cream and gray subway tile backsplash, cream and brown travertine floor tiles, really veiny grey and gold granite (seen in the R pic), stainless steel appliances. Still not in the demolition stage yet, so everyone’s still smiling. I think things will start being ripped out the first week in April:
PS: If you haven’t yet read our Hostess review and entered the giveaway to win one-hundred smackeroos, check it out. The giveaway is open until the end of this month.
Aah, Justice. The key is to either shop when the store is all 40% off, or when you get a 40% coupon in the mail. One or the other is going on at all times, so you should never pay full price. Took me a little while to figure it out. Your girls are darling.
ReplyDeleteYes - NEVER pay full price at Justice! Always a sale or coupon for there!
ReplyDeleteForty eight dollars for a sundress. I was in complete shock. Will keep my eyes open for those coupons.
ReplyDeleteJustice is new here although I haven't been yet. One of my piano students shops there and her clothes are adorable! Lots of bling! Hmmm...wonder who might like that?
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is 6 and once she went into that store she won't evn walk in Gymboree or Gap! Definately use for 40%! Some of their clothes seem so grown up and it drives me crazy that the small sizes are always gone first! I swear they only get in 1 size 6!
ReplyDeleteJustice tips-agreed with above! You are so brave to tackle a major kitchen remodel. Make sure you set up the microwave and a fridge in the garage and eat off of paper plates. Or go live in a hotel until its done, lol. Alayna has lost 2 bottom teeth already! They were SO tiny. But she won't have any part of the TF, she just tells us we're making it up...who us? I know you'll have more fun with it :)

Yep, we have our temporary stuff ready to go -- sink, fridge in garage, microwave, two-burner unit, and all paper/plastic plates/utensils/glasses. I'm going to pack up all the silverware, glasses, and plates so everyone knows to use the plastic. It's going to be brutal, isn't it? I'm a little scared.
DeleteGet on Justice's email list. They send 40% coupons pretty often & they are usually good for a couple of weeks. I hate the ones that end within a few days. :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE Justice but very expensive. My gave is the clearance rack and when the whole store is 40% off the clearance is super cheap!
ReplyDeleteMarshalls and TJMaxx have LOTS of Justice clothing for $5.99-$9.99 - not my taste but the kids love it. Don't invest too much - it's made like crap and falls apart quickly! Lol
ReplyDeleteWe walked by Justice, and Sara just stopped and stared. I asked her if she'd like to go in, and she whispered, "No, not yet. But soon..."
ReplyDeleteHer front tooth was as stuck as stuck could be, just hanging there, for 2 weeks! Finally she accidentally hit herself in the face while bored in line, and goofing off with her lunchbox. Smack. Out came the tooth. She looks SO CUTE!!
Godspeed on the kitchen. Ai ye ye!
Well, here i thought I was going to be ever so helpful but everyone else has the same advice. Join the email list...while it is annoying to get the emails from Justice as they come so regularly, it is fabulous to have the 40% off at the ready.
ReplyDeleteLove Friday cell phone dump! Really love the choices you are using in the kitchen! Fun, Fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink skirt (I don't know which one) that one of them wore to Barnes and Noble. I love when there is incentive for kids to clean their rooms fast! That is so awesome.
Ah we call that the incredible growing skirt! It was Ree, btw. And I bought that skirt for them at Gymboree back when they were 3. It was longer then, but those teeny little waists apparently haven't gotten any bigger because it still fits. Check out this early photo of Ro wearing it:

Hm, that url didn't work very well, here's a nice neat link.
DeleteOoohh, by the way....Austin is leaving for Oakland at 8:37 a.m. Wednesday.
ReplyDeletelove love love your decorating choices. Your remodel is going to be fantastic! I'll be anxious to see your subway tile in the kitchen as I've been eyeing subway tile for our kitchen remodel that we'll be doing down the road. It looks so cool in the all the photos I've seen of it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Friday Photo Dump!
Love,
Aunt Jane
It's my first time visiting - your girls are TOO cute! Loved all the photos!
ReplyDeleteLOL at your loose tooth checking!! That is so cute!
ReplyDeleteOH MY, I CANNOT wait to see your kitchen..... I love everything you chose! BEAUTIFUL!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend~
xo,
Lisa
Yes, the only way to go are the 40% off coupons, and no, the stuff isn't high-quality stuff, but it's sparkly and shimmery, so that works. There is also a justice outlet here in NH...not sure where all they have them, but that's where my 12yo gets her skinny jeans and gym shorts.
ReplyDelete40% sale currently going on. we have made our first purchases and I'm interested in seeing how well the clothes hold up in the laundry. They just dont seem to be the same quality as gymbo...which are indestructible. my biggest fear is that the clothes will be BS, and I'll never be able to divert her away from the store for the next 5 years. God help me if that's the case bc she loves the place.
ReplyDeleteLove the kitchen choices. The girls are as cute as ever :)
