The demolition progress has been exciting to see! These two little cupboard doors were the first thing to go:
After the “easy” stuff, the plastic went up and the real din began. There was drilling, hammering, wood being ripped, and all sorts of other weird equipment noises that I’ve never heard before.
I was in and out all day, and then went to pick up the girls from school. It was really quiet and really dusty when we got home. Kind of eerie. Our contractors had gone home, and Ro and Ree couldn’t resist peeking:
I believe they were saying “whoa....” here. Actually I probably was too:
So Day 1 saw the removal of all appliances, cabinets, and countertops (except for the island) and half of the top layer of floor tiles. Love seeing the progress! Oh, and we had rotisserie chicken, microwaved cheesy noodles, and baby carrots for dinner. Easing into using that temporary kitchen. Heh. Maybe next I’ll attempt something wild and crazy like a frozen pizza in the toaster oven. Look out!
