Sunday snapshots

The intrepid lizard hunters (luckily they didn’t catch any!):

(Framing: D300, 17-55 2.8 lens, 1/400 at f3.5, ISO 200)

We have a house full of contractors, but even with all the hammering and drilling I suddenly noticed that the girls were suspiciously quiet. So I ran upstairs to find them watching a movie on the little iPad and lying like this in my bed to see it. Nearly broke my neck running downstairs in flip flops to get the camera... (Symmetry: D300, 30mm 1.4 lens, 1/250s at f2.5 and ISO 1600 - it was dark in there)

Love Ro’s little gap-tooth smile. She has another wiggly tooth, by the way, with yet another big tooth already growing behind it. Might have to make another trip to the dentist...DSC_2554-EditLR

This was my view while standing in the check-out line at the grocery store today:

  1. Take your own dental pictures of the teeth growing in rows. Maybe the fish eye would produce some pretty cool pics, up close and curved. I have the dental X-ray of my Natalie before their magic foam slipped it out.

  2. LOL! 'Accidental Symmetry!'

The other symmetry one is breathtaking! Still surprised after all this time how similar your girls look!

    Beautiful pics!

  3. Ree's expression and body language in that first photo are hilarious! She looks like she's 25 and posing for a magazine shoot! They are quite the pair...adorable!

  12. I too am glad they didn't catch any lizards. However, their fashion choices make them great looking hunters!

I am sorry if you have to make another trp to the dentist. I was hoping that once was enough. I really am into loosing teeth the natural way..... Good luck on that one!

    Pretty girls!

  17. Ok so I don't comment often but this post screamed at me.
First I love how lizard hunters dress, I never knew what their uniforms were but always wondered.
And second the photo of the girls on the bed is stunning. It is just amazing, like breathtaking, do a double take kind of stunning.
The girls are gorgeous always but seeing them still is shocking. LOL

  18. Laughed out loud about break-necking to get your camera for that "perfect photo" of the girls watching the IPAD! Anyone who takes a lot of pictures and is always thinking like a photographer, understands what happens when you "happen upon" the perfect picture and your camera is not in your hand! That picture is "picture perfect!" In fact, it could win a contest! Kathy

  21. Gorgeous photos and gorgeous girls. I would love to get my first nice camera. Any suggestions? I love the pics with the backround blurred (sorry, don't know what that is called) I have no idea when it comes to choosing a camera. Something great for a beginner but that has enough features that I would be happy with for a while, all while not breaking the bank. Thanks. Love, love ,love your blog.

    1. Hi Shelley, thanks! Nikon makes a nice "intermediate" level DLSR camera. It used to be called the D60 but they change it all the dang time (maybe it's D90 now?). Go to a camera shop and tell them you want to spend around $800 to $900 with the lens. Canon also has an equivalent intermediate-level DLSR.
